Perhaps they're shelving the older models hence putting this as all-in-one / flagship to replace them all.If the firmware overall has improved and recording experience.
Is the recording H264 or H265?

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Aug 8 2022, 02:38 PM) Thinkware is world known for the buffered parking mode. Can look at FineVu is on budget. No more buffered parking from Viofo? Haiyaaaaa. So upsetting news weiBlackvue also can consider. These are Korean dashcams. China dashcam's parking mode is either "bang then start recording" parking mode or time-lapse parking mode. Viofo also now no more buffered parking mode but motion/impact parking mode. |

QUOTE(myteam94 @ Aug 26 2022, 03:14 PM) my only complain with VIOFO is their app...bit laggy and not intuitive as 70mai / Yi cam app I can agree with you on the overall quality of Viofo. Both of my units still using till today.overall quality is great and been using for more than 2 yrs Model : A129 Duo GPS Viofo A119 V2 - Oct 2017 Viofo A129 Duo - Aug 2018 (KIntos) So it's rather safe to say can last at least 4-5 years or more.... |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Aug 29 2022, 02:25 PM) See which brand you're using as current Viofo models is motion/impact detection parking for older models. 70mai is either impact then starts recording or timelapse. DDPAI is timelapse parking mode. A129 Duo is buffered parking also...i thinkIf you're using Thinkware or FineVu dashcam, then the buffered parking mode would have captured 10s before the crash and 10s after. Newer A229 and A119 Mini has improved buffered parking mode. Need to test more 1st. If can, get high/pro endurance as it is covered by the warranty when used in a dashcam or home cam. And it is tried and tested when used in dashcam or home cam. Other cards is it not. Both G-sensor and motion could trigger buffered parking mode. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Aug 29 2022, 04:13 PM) But A129 Plus Duo only motion and impact parking mode. Auto event detection: in this mode, the dashcam will only record when it detects movements around your car. and stops when it does not. while you can adjust its sensitivity by Parking motion detection. we suggest you choose low sensitivity, so minor motion caused by wind or rain doesn't trigger a recording.Checked A229 and A119 Mini is Auto Event Detection parking mode. Hm... a few different versions of parking mode for Viofo. https://support.viofo.com/support/solutions...rking-g-sensor- isn't it the same as motion detection similar? haha |

Just want to check with Viofo A129 Duo users.
Are you still using firmware 2.1 or 2.3 ? Since 2.1 is still stable for me, I have not update it yet. Worry of instability..... |

QUOTE(blurjoey @ Sep 2 2022, 03:56 PM) Custom still at 1.9. But since 2.1 is not giving any issues, I stick to it.And I notice that newer version of 2.x onwards, the bitrate files are on par with 1.9 modded firmwares. Hence no more modded firmware requires. As i've seen 2.3 changelogs, not much changes Change Log for V2.3 -Refine local language translation. -Turn on WIFI in WIFI Station mode automatically. Change Log for V2.1 -Added the WiFi station mode(Press the MIC button to enable, and WiFi button to disable.) -Live video source display will keep after the restart -Optimize looping recording in parking mode for slow card -Menu language translation update This post has been edited by Keatsan: Sep 2 2022, 04:22 PM |

Anyone come across VIOFO HK3 hardwire kit malfunction?
Whereby it couldn't supply constant power to the dashcam. It'll last not even 2-3 seconds before it shuts down immediately. If I plug in the dashcam with another power source, it's working fine. |

Currently using the Mini USB port on the GPS adapter. Hence I'm able to use dashcam for now w/o GPS. Plugging directly into the dashcam body itself will not power up. Article somehow says power through GPS base will also enable GPS function, doubt that... https://viofo.com/blog/about-gps-support-fo...sh-cam-b50.html QUOTE 2. Should I power by GPS or dashcam mount? For A119 and A129 series, both GPS and dashcam mount is OK to power the dashcam. Whichever you choose, it will show GPS information successfully. QUOTE(KIntos @ Dec 9 2022, 07:23 PM) You can use the gps mount port. Based on your video look like camera port is faulty. Probably due to prolonged port stressing from hk3. If I use the GPS mount, somehow the GPS couldn't be used. Not sure if it's worth fixing the A129 or not. Sigh, gotta open and see inside what's wrong with it. The other units which is 4 years old + still going strong. |
