Is not the first bank doing so.

Few banks increased the rate (even when BNM rate remain unchanged).
Notably:
- CIMB, the first to do so, increase by 0.10%
- Bank Muamalat, increase by 0.11%
- RHB Bank, increase by 0.10%
- Hong Leong Bank, increase by 0.10%
- UOB, increase by 0.11%
- Bank Islam, increase by 0.13%

No any clear guideline to predict whether the remaining other banks will follow suit or not, since the OPR remain unchanged.

I also notice the base rate increase from 3.9% to 4%. But the strange thing is my house instalment amount had reduce few hundreds. My installment should have increased instead of reduce.

Thanks for the reply. Didn't know overpaid on the principle will affect the installment amount. I thought it will just affect the loan tenure smile.gif

question. how do you reduce the principal by paying extra? do you transfer straight into the loan? because i know their loan payment works by standing instruction so they will take wat is needed only for the month from the account. all advice is appreciated thanks.

Every month they will still deduct my installment amount as normal from my current account. Other than that, I paying extra by doing principal payment to reduce the principal loan amount. This will reduce my interest charged.
