Eventually the power button failed (stucked) ,
Went to One Utama Customer Service Centre and the person who attended told me power button no longer repairable I guess due to no spare part stock? But battery can replace 🙄
I wonder should I try other SC ?

Updated :
Got Huawei Support Center called back after communicated with human agent regarding the power button stock,
It is confirmed parts no longer available. sad.gif

Guess need look for third party service providers that can do the repair..
Anyone have any trusted phone repair shop can recommend?

The power button and volume control buttons on my Mate 20X were out of order since last year. Don't need to repair, just download a Power Menu app to restart the phone if required. I use this app if the phone needs to be restarted for some reasons (slow operation, some apps hang etc.)

You only need to ensure that the phone will always have enough power and don't let it automatically switch off due to low battery. Otherwise you won't be able to switch on the phone again. I have no issue with this arrangement as my phone's battery is always charged.

You can always change to a phone if it's too much of a hassle to you. Don't need to repair already. As a matter of fact, I have bought a new phone last year as a replacement, a Vivo X90 Pro just in case I need to swap to the new phone anytime. Nevertheless, I'm still using the Mate 20X as I don't like to waste something that can still be used.

I thought I was already quite steadfast in sticking with my Mate 20X for a long time. It looks like you guys have taken the throne. Salute you guys for sticking with the phone and taking attempts to repair and continue to use the phone until its twilight years. Good for saving the planet!

I hope my Mate 20X will kick the bucket latest by next year so that I can readily switch to the Vivo X90 Pro that's sitting on the shelf for quite some time. I think the Huawei will survive throughout this year.

I just saw that picture and realise it's not the Mate 20X which I own as the sides are curved and it's a smaller phone. Further investigation revealed it's the Mate 20 Pro. Perhaps this is a higher end phone with better performance so you have made attempts to keep it alive and kicking.

My Huawei Mate 20 Pro finally kicked the bucket yesterday. Just scrolling through Facebook and suddenly hang and restart. I was just recently replaced the battery for RM99 at SC. Probably mainboard issue from googling, CPU detach from chip is the most likely culprit). Contemplating on buying another board from aliexpress for RM160~ or send it for CPU reball just to make it alive again. Great thing I was able to back the data up since it can be booted fine if I let it cool down.

I really hate to replace phone (need to reinstall apps, banking app all need to reauthorize and wait 24 hours, and Desktop Projection feature is the best!)

The replacement board kaput after 6 months. :/
Total surgeries throughout its lifetime:
2 battery replacements
1 main board replacement

Total lifetime = 5 years ++ (Nov 19 - May 25) bye.gif

It's been a great experience with Huawei which made me opt for Honor Magic 6 Pro (need the desktop projection feature)

ps: I guess I'm late to the party but 120hz is nice yo brows.gif

Mine also same. Faced this problem last year.
The processor got 8 cores, but when you use software to see, it only detect 4 cores.
The phone will go to infinite boot as soon as the screen is locked and for about some times and the phone decided to deep sleep.
Do we have reball service of the board in Malaysia?

I am using Magic 7 Pro now. Basically a super beef up Huawei Mate 20 Pro without external memory.
All other stuff the same.

Yes I got the phone to not reboot by playing Spotify in the background in order to recover the data. Both original and replacement mainboard kena 4 cpu offline.

Regarding the reball service, last time I did survey, in my area quite a few able to do it for RM400++

My father in law is using Mate 20, change battery 2 yrs ago..

Is this phone still worth keeping? The security updates etc? Thinking of replacing it with honor new models

If phone suddenly can not start up, then all data will be lost

Any phone also is advisable to back up the data regularly. For hassle free, can use cloud solution but need subscription. If your FIL don't use any banking apps, I don't see the need for updates. Unless apps no longer working.

I presume there are still few people here using the Huawei mate 20X? I just realise that the Air Selangor app finally can't be used anymore when I tried it this morning. Previously the Air Selangor app can still be opened with the account number published but now it completely can't be logged in anymore even though the app can open. The new app cannot be supported hence can't be downloaded on Google Playstore.

Can Mate 20X users who are still hanging onto the phone confirm that the Air Selangor app can't be logged in anymore? I guess it's time I switch to a new phone that's readily available. Since Air Selangor app can't be accessed anymore, I have to go to the portal to make payments.

Memang true ,
I think SC only able to replace the battery only,
Other parts cannot replace/repair since parts no longer production.
