Of the 1 billion thingy...Got it...
To me...That is a smart thing to do....Not to the best interest of the customer but...it is of course to the best interest of the company...
Why I say that?
1. That is the cheapest way around to fix this prob...Other option is to redesign the product and make a recall of all the existing 360..which will prove to be more costly not to mention damaging to their reputation.
2. By doing this of course will divert everybody from thinking that they indeed have a defective product or design flaw...and at the same time they've managed to "altogether avoid" confessing that they indeed have a defective product.
What I think is the right way to do is...to tell everydoby that 360 have some issues and ...they will fix it so the new model won't have these issues anymore.
Because what they are telling everybody is basically,...." go buy our product...
they will be "borked" one day...but don't worry send us the thing back and we'll repair it for you at no cost....
The thing is I don't want to buy a console that will die before it's time....I wanna buy a complete product that is free from manufacturing and design flaw...
And...what am I supposed to do while my 360 is being repaired...which usually will take at least a month or the most 2 months (this is as per US)...
But in any case it is at least commendable that they take that step...long overdue but good at the least...and I personally don't think that it'll be one bil....they could just inflate the number to avoid tax.....
And talk about our big tax paying guy....
