@Dark NT, ps3 browser and store loads slowly for me as well, psn download speeds are good. i forgot what type NAT i have.

@deja, currently only PAL sets are confirmed 100% without the EE chip. other region sets, there's no way to tell what chip is removed. i think the difference in BC is not so obvious.

@raist86, while u can play PS3 on a low end TV, the picture quality is VERY poor. for example, u run GTHD or NGS demo in SDTV the games full of jaggies!! play in 720p, and everything is nice and clean.

for the budget conscious, buy a wide LCD monitor that have DVI-D with HDCP input.

480i - GTHD or NGS demo have jaggies, where on 720p have none/minimal
480i - 360 games none/minimal jaggies

but this SDTV is still very good - for ps2/xbox games

of course ps3 has all the connections to work on all TVs, SD or HD.

but ps3 console is already expensive, the games/blu-ray movies also expensive. its best to plan to getting the proper display 1st, before buying ps3.

3 new ps3 games + 1 blu-ray movie already more expensive than those ~RM700 19" wide lcd monitors

but i feel CRT tvs still have the better "colors" for videogames.

the disc or the drive is dusty, perhaps? another forumer had problems with his/her ps3 recently not recognizing discs.
