i'm hoping for the next S10 update to address these issues:-

1. Bring back notification light via notch or something else.
2. Make the FP sensor more responsive & fast.
3. Address the battery drain / poor battery life on the S series.

My S10e loses around 25% overnight (roughly 7 hours) on idle mode every night since I got the phone last Thursday. I’ve the phone on normal settings, with Data, WiFi and Location all on.

The funny part is if I keep the screen on the battery life lost seems normal. It’s just the idle mode that na overkill power draw. Any help?
*
the same thing happened to me last week when i installed always on edge to enable the notch notification..probably i didn't adjust the settings properly or the app itself is not optimized.. overnight i lost 27% of battery life & when i checked my phone the next morning, it went dead till i need to plug the charging cable while switching it on..lol

now, i'm having 9-10% battery drain overnight..quite a number of users here are also having the same issue whereby the phone is not going into deep sleep mode..

i just turn off the double tap, lift to wake features as ppl said it will drain battery.
Compared to my S8+, the S10+ just slightly better battery life approximately 2 hours more..
i need to charge in office at 4pm like that.

my usage just during the morning during MRT watching YouTube.. idk why still feel like not any better than the S8+
because the S8+ might have a weak battery already since its about 2 years already..
*
might be true also, as i didn't feel any much battery improvement over s8+ which i've been using for slightly a year before switching to s10+..at least on s8+ have the notification led & i don't have to switch AOD to know incoming notifications..

Yes... its a feature that is already there, at least they seemed to have acknowledged this
just needs to tweak its settings to get it to work, 3rd party apps has it figured out already, Itll be cool to have the notification light officially without the needs of any apps around the camera drool.gif
*
correct, i've tried the 3rd party app called always on edge, it seemed that the app is not that optimized for S10 or it could be my setting may go wrong as i've experienced serious battery drain from using it, for the sake of enabling the notch light at the camera cutout.. i've read somewhere that actually the app triggered the whole screen although it only lightens up the notch area, which maybe could have caused the excessive battery drain for my case.

At least samsung can provide software update to enable the notch notification which i personally believe will have less impact on battery life..

some people like to use harsh words to prove their points..of cos, this is an open forum & can talk anything you like but calling people samsungfags, horseshits is really unbecoming from a person..

what is that to be proud of if you win an argument? win a medal? becoming ambassador for the phone that you so proud at & make tons of money?

Not bad. I followed the advice of forum members here. Turned my phone off and on. Didn't make VOIP calls via Whatsapp.

Now I'm at 50% battery after 2 hours of screen on time and 20 hours since last charge. Device at default setting with Data/WiFi/Location on 24/7. Still surprised why Google Play Services is so high though...

Now Samsung...where's the damn update!

Oh yeah I actually did switch that off. Also switched off double tap to wake. But the rest are default as I can recall. No power saving mode. And other than Waze, I don’t kill background apps.
*
thanks man, i may try to switch off AOD & double tap feature to see if there's any improvement on battery

I sold my mate 20 pro after few weeks of usage and wait for S10+ hahah!!
*
wahh.. similar like my case, at first i've already bought mate 20 but it was still new & unopened back then..on 1 weekend, i brought my family jalan² at AEON Tebrau which coincidentally had the Samsung S10 launching, so went to the booth & they agreed to take my old S8+ if i purchase the new S10+, as a trade in program..so now, ended up using the S10+ while my wife is using the new Mate 20..from the looks of it, i personally think mate 20 has better battery life compared to mine..lol

yes, ONE UI vs EMUI..i prefer samsung over mate 20 on this one.. however, as i've gotten used to Nova, i'm using it now on my S10+..ahaha

My battery life smile.gif I guess I must be doing something right?
Unplugged off the charger since 5am on 28th march, that's 30 HOURS AGO.. From then used over 4 hours of SOT till this morning 11.30am with still over 50% remaining after more than 1 day. Awesome standby time. 70% WiFi, 30% mobile data. AOD off, location enabled whenever needed. No power saving mode. Disabled stuff via adhell3. Greenify used to stop apps before I sleep overnight.

According to the test report submitted by foreign forums, the Samsung S10 of the Orion 9820 processor was tested. When a network call was made or accepted, a BUG appeared, which prevented the mobile phone from entering a deep sleep state when it was idle. For example, if you use WeChat, QQ, or Facebook to send a voice video, the BUG will be triggered. This will cause the S10+ to remain in a high-load operation even after the voice and video call is closed. The running frequency is the same as the video voice call. Directly causing battery drain can be very serious.

To solve this solution, only re-. Therefore, each time the user ends the voice and video call, only the power is turned off to ensure that the power of the mobile phone does not consume much power when it is idle. But when you make and receive a mobile phone, this does not happen.

At present, the Samsung S10 battery defect problem still attracts the attention of Samsung, and will solve this battery loss problem through software update. However, for Chinese users, there is no need to worry about this problem, because the Samsung S10 Bank Edition is the Snapdragon 855 processor, you can use voice and video calls with confidence.
