Guys, planning to buy A50. Gonna migrate from my Mi A1.

Hows the performance so far in term of gaming, camera and the UI?

Worth the change?
*
I moved from MiA1.

Must say A50 is superior every aspect except UI.
OneUI though does not complain much when I change to Niagara launcher.
So, all is good.

Plus I can change to dark ui themes so don't miss stock android so much
I listen to music alot via tidal, and must say it's an improvement as well.

too bad my fav mod, the tube amp pro was removed from latest update.

I had the MiA1 for a bit, so that means about 2-3% drain over an 8-hour period, barring any abnormalities? smile.gif

Actually, I would think the A series would be more of midrange and the M series would be the entry level, but the A series has entry level phones too. It's confusing, hahaha...
*
There are two field in mid range/budget market, retail shop and online shop

A series is for retail shop and M series target the online shop.

You can't find M series in physical store and need to buy it online, however Samsung pricing of M series in Malaysia is quite high makes it a failure and no brainer compared to A series.

M20 price in India is only around rm650, but become 799 in Malaysia

You can try other telco's sim card and see. Another way to troubleshooting is to disable LTE and convert back to 2G/3G to test the network....let me know the outcome

Totally true. I was kinda hoping to try the M20 but RM799 is quite expensive considering the specs it offers. An A30 makes more sense even though you lose the extra 1000mAh in battery capacity.

Yes, and Xiaomi with the SD processors seem to be better bang for buck still.

Samsung needed tweak their pricing if they serious in the Low & mid range market.. If not, can forget about challenging those Chinese makers 😏

Still the same 799 tho

In India Samsung partner with Amazon to sell their M series online. Here Samsung seems to be partner with Shoppe upon release.

Maybe this online business model is not really profitable in Malaysia. We see xiaomi quit it online shop and sell on Lazada. Then people will just buy ap set from Indonesia due to cheaper price compared to official Malaysia set.

Ya, I believe you're right. Xiaomi also previously didn't believe in setting up retail shops but now they have quite a number all around the country laugh.gif

Idk why but official Xiaomi RRP in Malaysia always few hundred more expensive than Indonesia and India. It's open room for importer to import from Indonesia and sell at Malaysia at cheaper price than official xiaomi and still get profit

Xiaomi should just sell by themselves at cheapest price similar to Indonesia price then people will buy from them directly and not will buy AP set

Maxis seems to be ok...

And right now I am disabling the LTE and set to 3G only... is this because to minimize hunting for LTE signal and keep on changing between 3G and LTE? Another forumer asking me to do this too...

So far signal seems to be ok if I limit to 3g only... but I cant explain why other phone like Xiaomi and Oppo dont have this issue with LTE...
