Symptom looks like phone not supporting Unifi Mobile VoLTE

If yiu want to be sure, just check if your new Xiaomi phone support VoLTE for Unifi Mobile before purchasing

like I said what you described sound like not supporitng UM VoLTE but need to know exact model to check with their list then can 100% confirm

Anyway, for me even my phone is VoLTE enabled I am still sticking to their CELCOM 2G because their 4G coverage sucks

Only when I need data when I am outside then I stick to their 4G

Looks like not able to send SMS to premium number for free anymore

SMS sent without error message but no sent receipt and no reply from receiver side

If your phone don't facing such issues, I will advise you to drop this phone, it means you are opening attack for capturing your SMS with fake tower!!!!
Or better, use it for 4G Internet only, don't use it for important banking/ewallet phone!!!

And yes, you should change your SIM card as well, it should be FoC, just do it via app if you don't have the time to TM Point. tongue.gif

FYI mine no longer able to connect to CELCOM 2g, only MAXIS 2g but connected or not still same because calls & SMSes will not get connected or received

Previously CELCOM 2G was superb even downstairs got full bars, clear voice + instant SMS but now have to survive on 4G where even climb tree also 2 bars only

Yes, fake tower is to connect only to those whitelist by your sim card before.
As celcom is told by your sim card to connect with, so your Android phone just connect only to celcom 2G/4G and unifi 4G.
Wonder if it is because they ended contract with CELCOM since now they signed with MAXIS

On 4G.. I changed my SIM few months back when they asked to and nop still not getting to leech on MAXIS 4G

But.. they did mention in their announcement ONLY at places without unifi 4G coverage, yet how they 'decide' which tower is WITHOUT unifi 4G coverage, I donno

Nowadays, mostly outside the unifi 4G coverage is superb full bars and problem always inside mall especially at payment counter no coverage, how to use ewallet?.. but still did not connect me to MAXIS 4G so... I don't see it as a solution to their weak network

I tried again, celcom 2G still nope, I think it is because they end(yes, they don't extend, but the current contract still valid) at Dec 2023 or Jan 2024, so they closed it to switch over Maxis 2G now la.

So your no issues for Maxis 2G la?
So far many report this issues, but only 1 showing up and telling it failed, lol.

MAXIS 4G should be ok indoor and then these places unifi should utilise that as unifi 4G is never good indoor for the reason you mentioned.. unless MAXIS also didnt put indoor antenna then sucks so expensive telco lol

MAXIS 2G as I mentioned in my post above connected equals to not connected.. SMS wont come in one so I presume calls also will not get connected

but these few days better.. at least now I can send premium SMS for free again

tried calling and it took damn long to get connected

TLDR not consistent.. now ok maybe tmr GG again but luckily nobody calls me one lol so unifi still good for me

I am not sure did I manually connected to Maxis 2G before or what so no issue like them even few months back auto will prefer Maxis and I had to manually switch to Celcom so once Celcom cut off immediately I got Maxis

oh forgot that calling 100 is FOC ya? Forgotten that everytime I still use my house phone for it lol

Yes, now I use auto also it will connect to MY MAXIS 2G

and somehow these few days better, calls/SMS will connect or send out/receive

I think it might caused by the system issues as well, the phone might also tried to register on Maxis 2G, but failed.

So it is either
1. fake tower Prevention feature prevent Maxis 2G
2. Maxis 2G registration failed after each reboot(as many unplug sim card then plug in another dummy phone)

I wonder did trying to calling 100 as emergency phone number works or not, as it enforce you to register any 2G tower as it need, lol. laugh.gif

FYI only

now we can access unifi mobile account info using web (unifi.com.my) instead of app alone

same logging in as how you login to unifi fibre and they will let you choose unifi home, unifi mobile or unifi air
