I wonder what surprise.

I just switched to Unifi Air last week. Rm79/- p.m (normal rm129/-) use my own router, no contract, (Malaysia Day offer) , unlimited data, unlimited speed (they said up to 20mbps, but I am getting higher)

I am very happy, getting up to 40-60 Mbps for speedtest. I can't be happier.

I am not even in their coverage map.

My area not in Unifi Air Coverage map. But all this while my Unifi mobile at my place can connect Band 38 (router only has band 38, no band 5 or 40). Using for 1.5 years.

So I took a chance, and got Unifi Air. Now I am happily getting 40-60mbps with Unifi air.

But when you use your Unifi mobile last time do you know if it connected to either band 38 or 40 ?. If your Unifi mobile only can get band 5 at your place now, you won't be able to use Unifi air band 38 or 40.

Maybe they sold cheap Unifi air promo 79/- p.m unlimited- high speed Postpaid with free B618 router (using band 38 and 40), so could be lots of users in your area.

Unifi Air comes with Huawei B618 router and unlimited data and hotspot sharing but must enter 2 yr contract. I didn't take the 2 yr contract, just took the sim only and used my own router.

Btw I am downloading full speed 40-60 Mbps with Unifi Air (band 38).

If want to change, just make sure the offer us still on. It's supposed to be for Malaysia Day promotion, but may have been extended currently. Normal price is rm 129/- , reduced to 79/- for limited time

So don't take too long to decide.

Contract is because or free router. After contract over, price still 79/-. If Use your own router , then no contract. Price will also be 79/- .

B618-65 supplied by unifi is very powerful router, but be careful it support band 5 and 40 only. Also it is not portable., Need power supply.

Generally for new postpaid bill , normally they bill you 1 mth in advance + previous mth partial usage less any upfront you may have paid.
