I wonder what surprise.
I just switched to Unifi Air last week. Rm79/- p.m (normal rm129/-) use my own router, no contract, (Malaysia Day offer) , unlimited data, unlimited speed (they said up to 20mbps, but I am getting higher)
I am very happy, getting up to 40-60 Mbps for speedtest. I can't be happier.
I am not even in their coverage map.

QUOTE(ahlong0180 @ Oct 3 2019, 04:10 PM) you can compare these 2 coverage maps: Unifi Air(band 38/40) https://unifi.com.my/personal/home/wireless...adband#wttx-airUnifi Mobile(band 5/38/40) https://unifi.com.my/unifi-en/personal/home...s-coverage.pagelets say your area is not covered for Unifi Air but covered for Unifi Mobile, you area probably only have band 5. My area not in Unifi Air Coverage map. But all this while my Unifi mobile at my place can connect Band 38 (router only has band 38, no band 5 or 40). Using for 1.5 years. So I took a chance, and got Unifi Air. Now I am happily getting 40-60mbps with Unifi air. This post has been edited by Ngto: Oct 3 2019, 06:56 PM

QUOTE(dannydanny @ Oct 3 2019, 09:11 PM) really??? my area not in coverage map too But when you use your Unifi mobile last time do you know if it connected to either band 38 or 40 ?. If your Unifi mobile only can get band 5 at your place now, you won't be able to use Unifi air band 38 or 40.

QUOTE(aizamev @ Oct 20 2019, 12:17 PM) hi, long time not post in this thread. just to info that my unifi mobile with bebas plan now start have problem with band 38 and 40. if connected to TDD, speed too slow within 300kbps. but when connect to band 5, got speed up to 4-5mbps. during congestion, connection with band 5 will go 1-2mbps. is it only my area or other area also have problem like my area? Maybe they sold cheap Unifi air promo 79/- p.m unlimited- high speed Postpaid with free B618 router (using band 38 and 40), so could be lots of users in your area. QUOTE(lurkingaround @ Oct 20 2019, 03:36 PM) Note that 3G/4G cell tower signals to your device is line-of-sight and can be blocked by objects like walls, tall buildings, hills, forests, heavy rain, etc.
4G LTE = about 30Mbps (maximum 100Mbps) 3G = about 1.5Mbps (maximum 4.7Mbps)
TM Unifi Mobile/Air rides on Celcom's 4G LTE coverage = Band 3 and Band 7. Your device should support Celcom's frequency band to get 4G LTE speeds if there is no TM Unifi Mobile 4G LTE coverage at your location. ....... Check whether Unifi Mobile Bebas limits video streaming to 1.5Mbps = 480p/SD. Some "unlimited" or "Bebas" phone plans do this.
Unifi Air postpaid only using band 38 and 40. Not using Band 5. Unifi mobile is using 5, 38 & 40. This post has been edited by Ngto: Oct 20 2019, 10:06 PM

QUOTE(aizamev @ Oct 20 2019, 05:04 PM) unifi bebas with unlimited plan allowed to share it data. but if they change the t&c, i might apply for unifi air. Unifi Air comes with Huawei B618 router and unlimited data and hotspot sharing but must enter 2 yr contract. I didn't take the 2 yr contract, just took the sim only and used my own router. Btw I am downloading full speed 40-60 Mbps with Unifi Air (band 38). This post has been edited by Ngto: Oct 20 2019, 10:05 PM

QUOTE(budi1413 @ Oct 20 2019, 10:20 PM) unifi air support band 5 too. how do i know? because im using it. The write-up so far mentions only TDD-lte support. https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/09/18/tm-un...le-to-everyone/This post has been edited by Ngto: Oct 20 2019, 11:25 PM

QUOTE(aizamev @ Oct 21 2019, 09:05 PM) just take my unifi air simcard and test just now at my huawei E5573Cs-609. i have agree with @budi1413 that unifi air really connected with band 5. but speed i can get max 5Mbps. with band 40 that quite weak here still can get 15Mbps. so, i guess it really worth to change from unifi mobile with unlimited plan to unifi air. If want to change, just make sure the offer us still on. It's supposed to be for Malaysia Day promotion, but may have been extended currently. Normal price is rm 129/- , reduced to 79/- for limited time So don't take too long to decide.

QUOTE(asrin @ Oct 22 2019, 08:36 AM) Unifi Air got contract right?..package with modem?..RM79 is promotional price until end of contract?.. Contract is because or free router. After contract over, price still 79/-. If Use your own router , then no contract. Price will also be 79/- .

QUOTE(asrin @ Oct 22 2019, 10:43 AM) Think getting unifi air with modem..after 2 years can keep the modem.. Currently using unifi mobile with e5573..if use bundle modem..can get better signal?.. B618-65 supplied by unifi is very powerful router, but be careful it support band 5 and 40 only. Also it is not portable., Need power supply. This post has been edited by Ngto: Oct 22 2019, 03:50 PM

QUOTE(Che_Bacca @ Nov 3 2019, 09:46 AM) Hi. I am subscribing the unifi 99 se postpaid plan. this is my first bill payment and the charge is rm 162.50 instead of rm99. Is it normal for the first bill or it's an error? Generally for new postpaid bill , normally they bill you 1 mth in advance + previous mth partial usage less any upfront you may have paid. QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Nov 7 2019, 06:15 PM) Just got my unifi mobile sim today to test. I've only tested in couple of places. 1. My office (KIP) just got unifi air and the speed is around 4X Mbps, but when I tested with my S9+, I only got about half of what unifi air gets. 2. Jinjang Utara - I only tested indoors since I'm usually in my parents or MIL house. To my horror, the speed indoors is less than 1Mbps. In comparison, TT and XoX (celcom) gets 21Mbps here. I'll share more test result in desa jaya, sg buloh and few more places. Overall I'm very disappointed right now. Update... Just reach home in desa jaya... full bar indoor only 5.3mbps... wtf Must be band 5.
