"Bestnya"! The price of Larut Malam pass, which is usable between 2-8am is reduced in terms of price/cost (from RM5 to RM3) but the FUP is halved to just 5GB! The speed remained the same (10Mbps on 4G, Uncapped speed on 5G) before hitting FUP.

That's lesser than the daily pass (10GB, also same price but valid for 24 hours) and the unlimited 2 hour pass!

No wonder nobody wants to buy that pass as it is a daylight robbery. I found this pricing to be very funny considering the late night pass is way more expensive than the 1 day pass with less data and usage duration.

Unifi Mobile's direction has been going seriously wrong since the ex U Mobile CEO take the post with FUP that put even CelcomDigi/Maxis/U Mobile offering to be attractive. The only saving grace is the uncapped 5G speed enabled as default for all passes (as long as you didn't exceed the FUP) and the no validity data passes.

Hi Sam Leong, terence_nwb,
Do you guy able to share how you able to make unifi VoWiFi works on your iPhone?
I have swap 2 ufini mobile BEBAS (1 old SIM since 2018, 1 new unifi 5G SIM when 2023)
on my iPhone 12 (iOS 17 and WiFi Calling setting turned on)
But both 2 unifi mobile doesn't work
*
I think you have to wait for Unifi side to activate - it seems like they are activating this batch by batch.

I had 2 Unifi Sims and had to wait for sometime for it to work after swapping Unifi SIM from a device to another (I am using Android though, specifically Poco M4 5g)

WTA. for prepaid package plan RM35 per month. 60gb FUP for 4g/5g data. for hotspot only 5gb. If this 5gb finish, will it take from the 60gb data or I need to buy more data for hotspot?
*
Need to buy data for hotspot.
There is an option to add unlimited hotspot for RM2 (after you have purchased the pass)
But I never buy the monthly unlimited package (only weekly, daily and hourly) so I am not sure.

Does anyone here experiencing speed caps of up to 5Mbps (via 4G network) on the high speed passes (those priced RM6/10/18 with limited quota and unlimited validity). I understand that there are speed caps on 4G if I am using unlimited passes but having speed caps on those very expensive passes are ridiculous!

The passes are like 4 times more expensive when compared to the FUP of their 5G monthly/weekly high speed passes and internet will stop if the data has used up. I have complained via Unifi and might complain on MCMC soon if the answer is not satisfactory.

I have tested on multiple SIMs connected to Unifi Mobile, there is absolutely no speed caps when connected to 5G or 4G band 28 (I am using a Samsung device - which can lock to a specific band easily). Speed caps only happened when connected to Unifi own 4G network (Band 5/40).

I might just port to Hotlink Pantas (I already have 1X SIM with them and are happy with it) if the situation continues. I am staying just for the sake of unlimited validity data passes.

Just tested, the high speed data really capped speed, previously can get over 20mbps, now below 5mbps, band 40
*
That's why I am really angry about the quiet speed cap - this is not stated anywhere!

Did you have other pass/plan ongoing?Sometime they prioritise those first which is 5 mbps on 4G

I understand that there are indeed speedcaps on certain plans whenever on 4G network (unlimited plan usage will take precedence to high speed quota plans) but I can't understand why there are speedcaps despite having no unlimited passes on my service.

can complain to MCMC.

Moving to Pantas is better. Unifi mobile network is limited and this capped speed lagi topkek...
*
Well I am complaining to MCMC after they give unsatisfactory answers. Will be moving to Hotlink Pantas if the same crazy situation continues and after the data is finished.

Yes "Kredit tak Mati" is the only reason I have been using unifi mobile since their first launch when 2018 until today.
*
That was really the only reason why I stayed there! Unifi Mobile have been doing crazy practices/things after the former U Mobile CMO/CDO joined the company (now TM CCO).

Well no people ever expect Unifi Mobile be good from the start as they use this to keep number only because of how the validity work here

And you tk tahu Unifi Mobile predecessor is P1 WiMax meh? People using Unifi Mobile never expected them to be good from beginning and to the end biggrin.gif
*
I know that history - P1 Wimax is the worst ever Telco we ever had and have to be rebranded to Webe and later Unifi Mobile

Of course as I use a smaller Telco, I never expect them to provide excellent service. However, it is true that things have gone very weird during this period after spending time recovering from the wreck P1 branding.

However, it is important to expect that service of a certain quality is to be maintained in all good service area, regardless of the size of Telco.

Noticed that the bebas prepaid sim card is no more working on my father's nokia basic phone. put the sim inside my smartphone and it's working. so i guess it means that now cannot use it on 2g phone already ya?

may i know will it work on this nokia 4g basic phone?

https://www.gsmarena.com/nokia_105_4g-10966.php

thanks

I would say definitely yes, it will work on this device perfectly (my uncle is using this exact device with Unifi bebas plan). I recommended this device for him when he replaced his damaged 2G phone because he doesn't know how to use smartphone + future proofing.

But before getting a new device, consider manually setting up the network to Maxis 2G first as a few forumers has said that Unifi Mobile have recently switched their network partner to Maxis.

Unifi mobile secretly throttle legacy unlimited postpaid plan (unifi mobile 99) speed to 1-2Mbps DL (no throttle on UL) when usage exceeds 100GB.
This throttle only present when you are not doing any speedtest on the Speedtest Ookla App. (E.g. via Fast.com)
At least on this plan, when connected to Maxis network max speed will be 80Mbps
On 5G network have no throttle even though exceed the limits

Can make complaint to MCMC in this case? I remember there was no mention of these throttle in the TnC of this plan

You should, but then Unifi will give a lot of irrelevant answers not related to your complaint and try to close your case - they are not admitting their throttling of their network.

I am still trying to get an answer from MCMC.

I see, I'm quite heavily relying on unifi mobile nowadays due to bad network provided by Digi and no 5G for my "legacy" plan.
I was quite satisfied with my unifi mobile as got free 5G and wider coverage by implementing MOCN with Maxis.
Guess might need to force lock LTE B28 + NR N78 if like this.
*
Well, they (Unifi Mobile) still don't want to admit they did implement capping despite I insisted that there are illegal capping on certain plans.

In this case, everyone using Unifi Mobile should complain about the illegal capping on Unifi 4G. I am using Unifi high speed quota pass (no unlimited pass) and all I get is such speed, all the time on their 4G.

Well with all those endless claims that I get, I am planning to switch one of my 2 SIMs to Maxis (hunting number is already in progress). The second one after I finish tons of data on that number. You don't want a paying customer? That's fine.

Note that Unifi Mobile (Prepaid/Bebas) users will have to migrate to a new app (Unifi Mobile) from 24 February.

As on 23 Feb 2024, the speed cap on Unifi 4G has further reduced to just 3Mbps. (This is still on the most expensive data based RM18 for 8GB package)

No speed cap is observed on 5G or 4G band 28. I have give up complaining over MCMC as they are keep finding reasons to justify their speed cap. Maybe a viral post on tech media is necessary.

A real sneaky way to ask people to upgrade their smartphone to 5G capable phones.
Tested 2 SIMs and both give the exact same results.
200X speed difference on 5G when compared to 4G so people will keep buying the high speed passes (RM25 30GB, no validity pass) as the data is used up quickly.

After seeing all those capped posts, now we have to viral it on social media!

4G network experience has downgraded from :
Unlimited high speed > 5Mbps > now 3Mbps!!!
5G still uncapped.

Reporting over MCMC - buat tak tahu and justify their cap (despite it is illegal)
Very dissatisfied and disappointed on the cap.

2024 still got people use unifi mobile

if you want maxis 4g then you either have to pay the premium of being in maxis postpaid

or switch to hotlink and get 20gb of 4g for rm25
*
Never happier to be on Maxis. I am already on Hotlink Pantas anyway for some of my numbers, so I will just use up everything and say goodbye to this soon.

Speed limitation to 3Mbps on 4G, removing the SMS one has purchased after the app migration (the one with 60/200 SMS), restricting internet usage on older 4G passes on 5G and so on. How unethical the company it is, all the bad things about it's old name P1 just reappeared.

For those who do choose to complain, especially if you are using the non expiry passes, please do add this : "My internet experience while on 4G network has been unfairly limited to a maximum of 3Mbps, despite their claims of having no speed caps". This is especially they are trying to justify their speed caps despite having none listed on FAQ.

Unifi/TM has to be penalised for doing unfair practices.

You can get 40GB with unlimited call on Hotlink 5G & CelcomDigi 5G

I really wondering why TM CEO is launching this kind of Prepaid plan
RM25 per month for just 30GB without call (Call charges RM0.30 per minute with 30 seconds call block)
