I read from the Unifi community that Band 40 is for Unifi Air. I'm surprised that your Unifi Bebas sim card can access to Unifi Air network. If this is the case then it is a loophole that Unifi neglected. Nobody would RM79/month for Unifi Air already.
*
I believe Unifi Air and Unifi Mobile use the same network because I used both before. Back at 2019, Unifi Air connected to LTE band 5 which was the only band available at my location at that time. Now, my location has upgraded with LTE band 40, my Unifi Mobile can get band 40 most of the time and it's not loophole. Check my previous post HERE.
You may be wrong because Unifi Air comes with free router, although that would bind you with 2years contract, and unlimited high speed internet (varies for each location), while Unifi Mobile Bebas unlimited data add-ons have a capped speed at 8mbps.

QUOTE(khteoh2019 @ Jan 21 2021, 03:06 PM)
About 2 months ago I was asking about Unifi Air for the USJ 2/5J area and was told there is no coverage. Now I know that even Band 5 signal is so weak at that area, so don't dream about Band 40 signal.

Is there any router that can display all the detected band signals and also have the option of letting u manually pick which band to use, instead of auto select by the router ?
*
Huawei B618s-65d shows which LTE band you're connected to on router webpage.
You could use HManager app to lock at certain LTE bands, but that may cause the RJ-11 connected phone to malfunction.

does utilising FREE 1G daily data will not extend validity? been always using it, sometimes without 4G will fallback to 3G and using existing data plan but still received this alert, wonder does it mean something or can ignore?

would like to know bout this too, theoretically it shud be extending the validity , its still usage.
*
I've not reload/bought any add-on except this "free 1gb" since July 2020 for 2 numbers of mine. So, if this free 1gb doesn't extend validity, both numbers should have been terminated.

May I know the exact location u were standing to get 36Mbps. I just found out my Huawei E5576-855 has an option to configure which band to use. I went nearby to test out Band 40 but can't get 36Mbps, it was still around 8Mbps (I assume that's band 5 speed).

Besides selecting Band 40, is there anything else u need to configure to get that speed ? TQ.
*
Are you testing with unlimited data add-on?
Remember all unlimited data on Unifi Mobile Bebas are capped at 8mbps (max) regardless of whichever LTE band you're connected to

May i know which one it the uncapped plan.
*
As azhar75 said, those aren't unlimited. The free 1gb daily is also high speed data, it could reach 100mbps DL but only 1mbps UL back in October 2020 with Huawei B618 router on LTE band 40.

I'm subscribing to RM35/month unlimited LTE plan.

Based on my understanding, isn't that fellow member SleeplessEyes was trying to tell us that if connect to Band 40 then there will be no speed cap. U can bypass that restriction. No ?
*
You should refer to him.
What I know is all unlimited data add-ons are capped speed at 8mbps (max) for whichever LTE bands.

thank you for clarifying that...not expecting speed tbh
*
If you're not expecting speed, then Unifi Mobile Bebas is a very good and affordable choice for a home broadband.
RM35 for 30 days with max 8mbps + unlimited (provided your location has a good connection), you can hardly find another.

Come on! It's CNY holidays, you expect them hmm.gif to work 365/year?
Other telcos also states something like "# working day".

thanks. i am a heavy hotspot n call user. i did some research on Rm30-35 prepaid packages in the market n found that digi prepaid Rm35 ( unlimited calls n hotspot) is the best. am i right?
unfortunately digi reception in my area is the weakest.
*
Digi RM35 is unlimited call & data, for smartphone only.
Hotspot is not unlimited.

Only the RM1, deducted daily, has unlimited hotspot although it's capped at 3mbps max. It can hardly get this BOS now, not sure it's still offered or not.

Without needing to wait for 30 days active period?

I don't really want to port into umobile because these few months their line at my area got so bad GX38 can only get around 1.XX mbps.

I was planning to Yes 4G if the 30 days active period was needed to try their plan.

Oh and I'm not sure if unifi bebas have the throttling issue like unifi mobile postpaid, if it's the same then there's no point in changing back to unifi mobile right?
Thanks guys.
*
Unifi Mobile Bebas doesn't have the throttling issue like Unifi Mobile postpaid. But, all of Bebas unlimited data has a speed capped at 8mbps (max).

Bro, appreciate the advice, how am I going to know the band in my area? I'm using Samsung galaxy s9 for hotspot at the moment, the phone heating up very fast, that is why plan to get a MiFi ...

just found that ookas is selling dlink dwr932 d3 which is supporting band5

*
Download Network Cell Info Lite on your phone to check which band you are connected to.
Or, since you use Samsung phone, try dialling *#*#0011#*#*, then select "number" 1 (can't remember what's the word) for SIM 1.

It adds onto your current balance

Meaning the same as the RM7 and RM20 voice add ons, as long as your number is the minutes are active
*
Is this free 200min deduction rate based on 1min/block?

I've purchased 60 mins comm pass and have utilized 15 seconds for calls. How much will I be charged?
For Call rate, it will be deducted based on 1 second per block. Your comm pass now will be deducted in 15 seconds only.

Unifi Mobile isn’t my main number, and given to my nephew for calling out usage. You know, the number still have the free minute which is based on 1min/block deduction rate.
Just wondering after the 1min/block quotas depleted, will it change to 1sec/block deduction one.

Purchasing an RM0 daily MCO quota is an extension of 90 days validity too right?

Yes, any out-going usage, including top up and purchase any add-ons, will extend the validity to 90 days.

How do I find out which 4G band covers my location?
Or are all areas under #bebas coverage served by all supported bands?
I'm thinking of getting the MR200 which does not support Band 5
*
Install Network Cell Info Lite on your phone to check which bands you’re connected.
Getting more LTE band-supported router would be a better choice, or you might regret later on for saving a little.
You may consider D-Link DWA-953 for it supports many LTE bands in M’sia.
Or Tenda 4G680 v2 which is a cheaper alternative yet supports many LTE bands too.

You may buy a Unifi Mobile prepaid to test whether or not the connection is good at your location. Do remember that all the prepaid unlimited data add-ons have a capped speed at 8mbps, so try to check with the free data it comes with.

Hi guys , is there any speed cap for unifi Bebas Monthly prepaid plan? I tried to search at unifi website it doesn't stated any speed cap for this plan . Is it true monthly RM35 with unlimited data & unlimited hotspot?
*
Yes, there’s a speed capped of 8mbps (max) for all unlimited data add ons.
And yes, it’s truly unlimited data + unlimited hotspot, but not for torrent.

NOTE: provided that your location has a very good and stable connection on Unifi Mobile.

Torrent speed is capped to 0-64kbps.
Torrent is usually not allowed on any mobile network.

hi guys, i'm new to bebas prepaid. is it normal the number is recycled from an active unifi number? kept receiving text reminder to pay unifi bills which is not my unifi account.
*
It’s not only Unifi Mobile doing such thing.
All telco numbers nowadays are usually recycled one, especially those 7-digit numbers not included pre-fix.

Hi, new Unifi prepaid user here.
I am experiencing around the same download speed as 7.5mbps too, but upload speed can reach around 4.5mbps, so far so good for home learning. (RM35 unlimited)
Weird thing though, whenever the unlimited pass expired and my usage is coming from the deductible data pool, the speed can reach as much as 20mbps++ and even 30mbps++ in certain area of my town, which is very impressive.

Heard that speed throttle applied when one subscribed to unlimited plan, is that true?
*
All unlimited data add-ons have a speed capped at 8mbps (max).
If you really want speed like 20+Mbps, then you may try Unifi Air. That’s why people say “buy a prepaid to test your location b4 jumping in”.
FYI, I feels Unifi Air network is more congested compared to Unifi Mobile Bebas.
