QUOTE(mt24 @ Jul 11 2020, 05:44 PM) Is it too late to start invest in stashaway? With people here advocating DCA (which is investing a consistent amount of money in set period of time) to Stashaway, then by definition, there is no "too late" time to start since money is continuously invested. If now is "too late", people would already stop DCA-ing.Got some extra cash dunno where to put Or wahed still better rate? With that being said, why not just create account first and get all the validation done? that way, when you are ready, you can just straight deposit money without jumping the hoops that may defer you away. I believe while creating account the robo will also advise you a portfolio based on your situations and wants. And also, invest with a amount that is comfortable for you to test the waters i guess. |

I also share my stats, both portfolio commences on 18 March 2020 till now Portfolio 1 - 6.5% Risk Index, 66% of my DCA MYR - TWR +9.31% - MWR +7.33% USD - TWR +11.70% - MWR +10.30% Total Return / Net Deposits (in MYR) = +6.26% Portfolio 2 - 20% Risk Index, 33% of my DCA MYR - TWR +28.77% - MWR +22.75% USD - TWR +31.55% - MWR +26.38% Total Return / Net Deposits (in MYR) = +14.39% Summary Total performance in TR / ND = +8.93% In hindsight, I should have allocate more to 20% RI portfolio, but bring me i consider myself a moderate risk taker and that time experiencing the market downfall of COVID-19, this is what is it. Maybe i will re-balance my portfolio to have a 3:2 net deposit ratio on portfolio 1 and 2 This post has been edited by viktorherald: Jul 22 2020, 10:32 PM omegaoracle and joshtlk1 liked this post

hmm, i had a deposit in 23th for the CNY promotion, and the amount is displayed in the portfolio at 25th
However, i realize it went in the "Cash" portion of the portfolio I think it means it is still not invested in some sense (the only thing count is i hold USD) does anyone knows when the cash will be used to buy the required assets? |

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Mar 6 2021, 04:40 PM) I have not much experience in stocks, wouldn't venture into those for now, thanks for listing them down. if the 8% risk have some asset allocation that is same as 36%, can be thought as "averaging down" the risk index of your overall portfolio to say, 26% ? (example made up number, but the idea is that)...What I'm trying to approach by having different RIs is to diversify long term returns in case one of the RIs suddenly pooped by market, lol...macam more like back-up plans. Example, 36% is more aggressive approach to go more on retirement financial freedom, 8% is for retirement emergencies. If that makes sense. Not trying to game it cuz SA is supposed to alleviate my worries by not monitoring, sorta, lol Don't know if this thinking is right, I welcome feedbacks. |

QUOTE(blstz @ Mar 23 2021, 07:45 AM) recently jumped on the bandwagon and started investing in SA There will be overlaps, and by investing in portfolio with multiple Risk Index, you are kinda "averaging down" the Risk Indexcurrently im investing in two portfolios, 30% and 22% to me i treat 30% as sort of an equity portfolio, 22% as balanced just some questions that i have because im new to SA/etfs, hope some members here can help to clarify 1. is it better to invest more money into the 2 portfolios that i currently have or to have more portfolios (36%, 18%) to be more "diversified" and to cover more bases 2. is the asset allocation for my 30% the same as all other investors that are holding the 30% portfolio also? 3. if say i were to invest in 2 portfolios, 30% and 36%, would there be a big overlap in assets allocation for both this portfolios? for example both risk portfolios invest in IJR and XLV, is it just the difference in how much im buying into the etfs? |
