anyone withdraw money from SA before? how long before the funds deposited in bank account?

also, do they verify the saved bank account number whether it belongs to the SA account holder?

Can check prev post for 1st question. Has been asked multiple times here.

2nd Question I'm not sure.

if theres no verification of the bank account for withdrawal, then this could be a a good platform for other purposes. rolleyes.gif

off topic but in your case it might be better to just use bigpay

the rates are not that bad

Thanks. are you investing in the 36% risk portfolio?

QUOTE(encikbuta @ Jun 16 2020, 10:00 PM)
Invested since July 2019 in 36% highest risk portfolio:
TWR: 5.7%
MWR: 27.3%
ROI: 7.6%

The MWR quite inflated coz starting from Feb 2020, I decided to quit P2P Lending and gradually transfer all the repayments to StashAway. Ngam ngam market crashed. So you can say I 'accidentally' timed the market.

QUOTE(datolee32 @ Jun 16 2020, 11:06 PM)

Risk: 22%
TWR: 15.12%
MWR: 15.01%
ROI: 14.93%

No, 2017 was the starting of stashaway singapore, I worked in SG.
Yes, 30% withholding taxes on bonds that is, not equities.
*
hi, beginner question.

how are the users being taxed on stashaway?

I see stashaway distributes the funds into:

1. international equities
2. US equities
3. Real estate
4. commodities (gold)
5. cash

which does the WHT affect and how does stashaway deduct from the user?

thanks

Example:

Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLV)
Decl Date  Ex Date  Rec Date Pay Date  Amount $
Jun. 19, 2020  Jun. 22, 2020  Jun. 23, 2020  Jun. 25, 2020  0.425

net dividend after 30% WHT
0.425 x 0.70 = 0.2975

0.2975  X  the XLV unit before 22/6/2020 = the net dividend received.  it will record in the transaction and bank into your SAMY cash account.  This dividend can be use for next purchase.

ah okay. that's clear

so whatever amount that is reflected in the stashaway account has already been taxed.

do we need to declare stashaway investments to Malaysia's LDHN?

But I read here that the transfer rate takes some time to our portfolio. Plus if 1k - 250 weekly the return should be miniscule. So is it worth it?

For me if 2 3 months the return still cents it wouldnt be worth it.
*
Why do that? If you transfer your entire savings to simple and make weekly deposits of 250 it still makes sense

But if you transfer 1k monthly and transfer 250 your money will spend most of the time in transit and not earning anything

might as well just transfer the 250 weekly into the 22% portfolio and skip simple

Nah. even with the cases in US still sky high, I think Feds has interfere enough.

Already few weeks without any policy bazookas, and business started to open again. Payroll report also increased significantly.

I think it'll just go upwards from now on. (Unless the Swine Flu hits like Covid-19 2.0)

Just kinda sad cuz we have both equities and gold in the portfolios, but when one appreciates, the other depreciates. Like tug of war.
*
but at the higher risk levels the equities much outweighs the gold

My 36% port no movement

I think stashaway only buy/sell when each individual account reaches max weightage of the individual ETFs in basket?

Ok, i thought he was asking about SA generally, tbh i dont see why anyone want to use only SA simple when the underlying fund easily accesible by the masses. Unless it is temporary before eventually transferred into the investment portfolio
*
i tried transferring from simple to SA portfolio

took 1 week wtf

transfer from bank account faster

SA needs to improve on this

Me
using simple to top up sure slower than jompay/ direct debit.
Because plus one process >>> redeem from eastspring + the money appear in your account >> baru start invest
compare to jompay >>> direct invest

but many ppl tell me since its DCA, so we not timing the market ma.....just let it auto  doh.gif

i tengah fikir mahu tukar or not  rclxub.gif
*
lol

but DCA from simple means your money is in the 'bermuda triangle' longer. in transit, not liquid and not earning

personally i dont prefer that

I have a 22% SRI portfolio with healthy 11.22% return.

However, I am venturing into 36% Risk soon once SAMY unlocks for me.

Should I-

1) withdraw all of the 22% and DCA into 36% portfolio;
2) transfer small amount on a weekly basis from 22% to 36%;
3) leave all in 22% and DCA fresh funds into 36%?

Looking for at least 5 years investment period.

Thanks for your insights in advance all sifus! biggrin.gif
*
the difference between 22% and 36% is that the higher risk port has more holdings in asia (china) ETF instead of bonds

so the question is, are you confident in china? smile.gif

Well. that's what we paid SAMY for. Confidence in the pros. My opinion matters less with zero expertise lmao

Just wanna know which one of the three is the best bet, since many of sifus here got more experience than me.
*
then ask yourself what's the risk level you want to take?

who can answer you how the market is going to go?

hahahahaha

QUOTE(TheEquatorian @ Aug 27 2020, 10:14 PM)
How many % of total assets is in China for the 36%?
*
you can check in the app. basically the high risk ports all have high holdings in US ETFs vs core ports, only the 36% port has very high China ETF compared to the other risk levels.

it's quite interesting.
