Hi, guys, I am new to investment, SA too. I yet to invest SA.
From what i know, current market a bit down, i should just wait till it start recover and start to put in money. Gonna do DCA follow on. Is my thinking correct? Or I should just start now?

QUOTE(stormseeker92 @ Feb 23 2021, 11:22 PM) Set a weekly/monthly amount that you are comfortable putting (without worrying if the price dips a bit and there is a unrealised loss) and hold for at least 1-3 years and you're set. SAMY is supposed to be deposit and forget it. We here just itchy follow the stock price daily cuz nothing else to do LOL I see. Thanks for the reply

QUOTE(tehoice @ Feb 24 2021, 10:09 AM) the best time to start is always 20 years ago. the next best time to start is now. Just keep calm and DCA over the next few years. Setup a plan and stick by it, you will thank yourself in years to come. Thanks for the advise

QUOTE(zstan @ Mar 4 2021, 10:33 AM) 30% returns is already very impressive. what were you expecting? 130%? I think he thought 30% is target and reached, it wont move anymore. He had to withdraw and put in again. While it is actually risk factor%

QUOTE(Hoshiyuu @ Mar 7 2021, 03:43 AM) With how buy orders are executed and how ETF tend not to gain/lose a big chunk of their value within days, its very likely that you won't get any benefit of going more granular than making a deposit every Monday. One thing i am curious, shouldn’t it be deposit on Friday, then Buy process will be on Monday? If deposit on Monday, Buy process on Tuesday.

I am doing both managed portfolio in SA and fsmone for nearly a mth now. Both started same day. SA is +2.96%, while fsmone is -1.42% (not really worry the -ve) I knew their charges are different, one is etf, one is UT/bond. But the result difference 4% is a lots. My inner greed wanted to put all future fund into SA, but my rational told me i shouldnt put everything into 1 basket Maybe 70% SA, 30% fsmone MP This post has been edited by buffa: Mar 16 2021, 12:17 PM

QUOTE(zstan @ Mar 16 2021, 12:31 PM) you can put into different baskets in SAMY as well. differnt risk index. Ya, I am more worried if SA bankrupt, instead of different risk index. QUOTE(Hoshiyuu @ Mar 16 2021, 12:42 PM) Personally, while I trust Stashaway, I am not sure I would trust 100% of my portfolio on the platform, and I am reluctant to recommend the idea of having all their investment in Stashaway on different index = diversified. But on pure roboadvisor allocation, I don't see a reason to split it, can be all SA. It is a good suggestion to put all MP into SA, while I can manually pick UT in FSM.

QUOTE(zstan @ Mar 16 2021, 02:06 PM) if you are worried about SA going bankrupt then you also don't know how their model works Haha, I know. Our money is on trustee there. I research smartly case in sg. They not brankrupt, but the company decided to closed down, all ppl got back their money, just that some are on loss from their investment. I am those type of worry person Anyway diversify is always good. Glad i found this thread. Many useful info.

A quick question, if I have let say 5k for SA now. Better to DCA or put all in now? I guess the difference is not much, put all in now is good. But I not sure if i am correct.

QUOTE(yuatyi @ Mar 19 2021, 12:16 PM) SA 36% TWR: +32.25% MWR: +40.24% For SA, started Jun 2019 and initially, lump-sum some then only like 2 or 3 months back doing monthly/twice weekly DCA. My FSM is DIY, currently is at +35.41% (I think I started FSM around Nov 2015 or so). I DCA from the start till I reached a certain figure then stopped like 1 year no deposit. The last bear in Mar 2020 I did not do touch it at all. Just look-see then sakit a bit, then tell self it will go up again. Just ignore the noise. I am now unsure if I should maintain my FSM DIY and switch to either Robo FSM and put more into SA? Can help share your thoughts on it, please? Thank you. I started 1 mth ago both on SA and Fsm managed portfolio. SA is positive 2% plus, fsm is -1% plus. I also very tempted to put all into SA, but i think I should continue invest both. Dont put all egg into 1 basket.

QUOTE(Hoshiyuu @ Mar 19 2021, 02:40 PM) Slightly out of topic question, for FSM Managed Portfolio, do you pay 0.5% annual fee for everything, or 0.5% annual fee on top of whatever 1.0~1.5% annual fee per fund under portfolio? Need to pay sales charge, then managed fees. There is no separate annual fees for different fund under your portfolio » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « There are only two charges:
a) Upfront subscription fee (see Fee Schedule)
b) 0.5% p.a. Portfolio Management fee (charged on a quarterly basis) This post has been edited by buffa: Mar 19 2021, 02:50 PM
