Luckily my unit has higher ceiling to floor height. I won't feel compressed while living inside.

Meanwhile, plaster ceiling also help concealing pipes that protrude from the actual ceiling and reduce some noise.
Unfortunately it cannot reduce those noise made by stupid neighbor above.

yeah

sometime when you end up with a stupid neighbor above, really makes one feel like the condo is something one only want to live there temporary.

next time I must buy top floor unit.

or save up enough money to buy a single storey house in PJ and renovate it.

Top floor unit also got problem... heavy downpour + poor workmanship of constructor = gonna spend a lot of time to deal with management to fix your roof, wall, watermarks and etc rclxub.gif

Talk properly first. If neighbour refuse to listen, fight fire with fire. Revenge with this gadget: ceiling thumper/building shaker

If you had the budget, you can put acoustic dampening material within the plaster ceiling also.

I have done this as sound proofing for my office at home.

I had thought of that also. But remember the sound also travels around the wall (not just ceiling). So, I might just file an official complaint rather than wasting money rclxms.gif

Well. It will help. It won't be 100% unless you willing to spend some real moolah.

Or heck, just get landed properly with land at the sides. Silence.

Until some neighbour's kid who has zero musical aptitude try his hand at the piano, or even worst, fucking drums.

Lord have mercy on thy soul..

Lmao. Fucked either way T_T

You r right

I wouldn't waste my money on sound dampening, otherwise I have to rebuild a soundproof "music studio" in my bed room.

this is good but I wouldn;t want to go that far, just want to send the message

If only this device is attach to a smartphone and thumps only when I call it at office.

You see if you fight fire with fire, it doesn't send out the message that his chair dragging is noisy, you just end up sending another message.

And that gadget...it appears you have to drill holes on your ceiling. I wouldn't want to do that.

Landed should be MUCH MUCH better than condo/flat.

But again, you know in KL, Penang, JB... those kiasu buggers like to park very near to your gate due to 1 family own 3 or more cars. Some like to use their garbage bin and stone to "reserve" their parking spot brows.gif

Same old shitty neighbor problem icon_idea.gif

That fella is really too much dragging the chair

Thinking of reporting this to the management office

What do you think is the remedy?

Any rules?

The fella is a renter tenant upstairs.

My friend once bought the chair sticker thingy
U know the soft soft thingy to protect ur chair leg one
U put at bottom of the chair so when they drag it wont make a sound

She offered that to the neighbors upstairs and needless to say they feel offended and unhappy
But since then the dragging chair noise stopped

Your upstair neighbors probably don't know their action created such noise...
It's ok to let them know, in a civilized manner.

great idea

but how did you friend managed to catch the upstair neighbour as they were going out ?

I have to knock on the fella door.

Should I leave it at that fella's door with a message ?

I plan to put in a transparent back with a message and hang it on the fella door.

When u hear them dragging on top that's when u should go and knock...
Talk in a friendly manner.
Alot of them are not aware that their dragging noise is disturbing to others.
