Agree. Many time he is wrong when on subs. Last week bring on barkley when we need a goal.
*
I actually wouldn't have minded barkley being given a chance to redeem himself from the first minute, rather than risk another injury to mount who was so obviously unfit. Pulisic with his pace would've been a nightmare for a tiring liverpool. Yet for some strange reason lamps throws on michy.

3 big chances missed today. Tammy in the first half, michy's unmarked header and mount's unmarked half volley sad.gif

Tbh, were u guys expecting a win coming into the game? I was. After the first half I was disappointed, but the second half performance is very good imo. We manage to make Pool sub in more defenders to cope with our attack

I would say our attack is ok now. But we need to sort out our defending from set piece. 2 set piece, 2 goals conceded.

Just look at Pool. It took Klopp like 2-3 seasons to build a good defense. And the signings were spot on with financial backing from the club.

This season really just keep our expectations low. Top 10 would be good imo. Let Lamp slowly source for good defenders and hope the club backs him.

nope. draw for me would be a steal. almost managed it actually.

1st half was Liverpool training set pieces against Chelsea U23. naively gave them freekicks outside the box to score.
2nd half, last 30mins we came back hard on them but didn't manage to snatch that point.

many positives we can take from this game.
half of the squad are still kids and potential diamonds like Tomori.
CHO RLC Reece James coming back. Rudiger too. sitting on that Hazard money + next season funds when the window opens up to reinforce wherever we need (FBs/wingers/ST) not yet out final form and it only can get better from here.

1. Our defending is completely useless.
2. Idk if Emerson passed last minute fitness test or what, but his injury and unfortunate injury to Christensen really disrupt Lamp's plan.
3. Abraham missed a sitter.
4. VAR is boycotting us. lol.
5. Kante is masterclass. He attack, he defends and he is everywhere.
6. Tbh, I have mixed feeling after the match. part of me is angry with the defeat, and part of me is proud after the spirited response in the second half.
7. We have to admit that Liverpool now is the title contender and to lost 1-2 to them is kinda expected due to our circumstances right now.

well, just a mature team vs a inexperience team, not just players but coach too

as much as i love lampard, but his decisions are questionable, such as went for 433, played emerson, mount should off instead of abraham etc, but how could i blame him when this is his second managerial season, with transfer ban

but this team is young, we already see many positive side from this young team, especially tomori

given enough time and patient, and some reinforcement in transfer window, we will be serious contender in future

Before the match, me really doesn't have any expectation except not a trashing by liverpool. A draw would be a bonus.
Agreed with you, especially Emerson and Christensen used up the slot so early in the game.

Me didn't watched the 1st half, so can't comment but base on all your comments, it not worth watching.

Me really like the 2nd half performance with the boys really give it all go with never die attitude. I really miss those drogba lampard terry era especially when all is down, this 2nd half give me the feeling back. U can see Liverpool fans was glad with the final whistle blows.

Chelsea this season going forward will be hit or miss now, just like previous Klopp joining liverpool era. Hopefully with the transfer ban over, we can hasten the process to be title contenders next season.

It's just that feeling of 'so close, yet so far' that really bugs me. Not too different from the super cup where I believe we were marginally the better team, today we bossed them in the second half but just couldn't find that equaliser. It's annoying to say the least, but like everyone says lamps needs time with this young team and the results / consistency will follow.

Turning point was probably when tammy missed his one v one, but that unmarked header from firminho for their second was inexcusable. Of course we could argue that second foul should never have been given, but we had more than enough chances to make it right.

Overall you could see liverpool has that winners' mentality ingrained within them, where they're able to grind out results, no matter how difficult it gets. We battered them and should have equalised, but no shame in being beaten by a solitary goal. Take note though, they were coming off an extremely difficult away game to napoli, so that ship to get one over them this season has probably sailed, and we'll be facing a different monster at anfield.

The season has actually panned out completely against my expectations, as I expected us to struggle with finding the back of the net, not with defending! When lamps gets our set piece marking in order we'll definitely go on a nice run, collecting points. Or maybe it's just rudiger missing?

Still not a fan of our ridiculously bad zonal marking though. We need to ditch that, or have a mix of zonal and man to man imo. If this continues I hope jody has a word with him, or at the very least get someone in to work with them. The worst that could happen though is if lamps insists on beating a dead horse with this system clearly failing, halfway into the season. My bet is we'll remain zonal and concede more silly goals, but eventually look 'somewhat' solid, towards the end of the year.

I agree with most of your points. But for me Toni missing is not the excuse as we will be facing more injury crisis in coming weeks (christensen looks bad, but i hope he is OK, and Emerson is now injured). Lamps need to adapt/tweak the back four or back three with his available players as soon as possible. But on the positive notes, Tomori is calm presence in the heart of defence as he kept Salah on check during one on one on couple of occasions. He has the speed and the physicality as a strong and imposing center back.

If we can establish the youth, next transfer summer recruitment we can focus on quality instead of revamping the squad.

I don't think we are that far off from Liverpool squad, lacking maybe one or two quality signing. We need game changer, we need someone that can replace Hazard's effect.

what I like about our games so far, we are relentless, never say die attitude.
