okay, i'm finally back. i bought a max racing exhaust 2nd hand from a friend (which he already convert to xpower cold air intake). this max racing intake is basically almost new. only 1month used.
diy installation process is fair. took me like 30mins, not including screws or nuts that fell inside the engine bay.
initially i love the growling sound, makes it sounds more aggressive. after driven it for months, this is what i can conclude: It only gives better responsiveness, not much extra power unless u use it with a throttle controller. works best when the day is cold. rain, cold morning, cold night. since this unit is bolted above the engine, it sucks in hot air. Only cold air with denser oxygen will give more power. on a hot noon, i must admit, the car is slower than stock intake. the build quality looks good, but the mounting bracket broke after 2months of usage. had to weld it back with extra metal as support. the most disappointing part is, the car feels laggy. just like turbo lag. the 2nd or 3rd second after you step on the throttle, then the power comes in. should this be happening in a NA engjne?
kinda disappointed actually.. now im feeling wanna change back to stock..

Sounds like heat soak to me. If you don't have airbox, your intake filter is sucking in all the hot air in the engine. When you move, the air start to circulate, fresh air from outside goes in the engine bay. No a problem for a race cars because they don't stop in the race. Street cars have an airbox for a good reason.

Any suggestions i can remove hot air from the equation.
