Just curious can you share why you take sony a700 then the rest like (canon 40d, nikon) ?
I don't hope to turn into a flame war or something but i think you have a700 that can share with us the strong points of it by exp on it so far.
**SONY ALPHA (α)**®, Like no others.

QUOTE([Raven] @ Oct 31 2007, 11:30 PM) Hi Ahmike, Wow thanks Jin for the feedback...by the way there is a *NEW* FIRMWARE for Alpha700 just saw it a dpreview.comfirst thing's first, i got an Alpha A100 to begin with. Rather affordable and i got it at a good price (really good price) with a 50 f1.4 and 2 other lenses including the kit. Also the Super Steady Shot features really help when you are taking pictures in a moderately dim light. Picture Quality wise, i adjust my saturation/contrast/sharpness on my camera so i get what i want. and normally i do get what i want. All those years of wondering how ppl take such nicely saturated pictures and contrasting pictures, i have it in the palm of my hand. Why the SONY? it looks good, wouldn't you agree? and it works good too. the thing i like about the Alpha A100 is how it ergonomically fits to the palms of my hand, i have big hands by the way. Another thing i like about the Camera was it has a built in CCD Censor cleaner, or something like that which helps clean the censor when needed. No doubt Nikon and Canon are the best buys in the market when it comes to photography, but buying the best camera wont necessarily get you the best pictures at all. Overall the A100 is promising, and a great camera to begin with especially when you are new into the DSLR world. Now coming to the A700, ever since i got the A100 i've been covering events. Weddings/concerts etc etc. So i knew, i needed a fast camera. If i had known that the A700 was coming out i wouldn't have gotten the A100 and just wait for a few more months, but then again i got a good deal on the camera. The A700 marks a tremendous improvement to the Alpha series in terms of Noise levels at high ISO. If you read the reviews done by international sites, this baby is contending against some of the top models in the market. and already beating them in some aspects (not all) One words explains this camera, SPEED. Its super fast and built tough. well it should be since its a semi pro DSLR. 12.2 megapixels woot! So summing up why i got the A700 Speed improved SSS Design Ergonomically accommodating Low noise levels at high ISO Sensitivity 3.5 inch screen User Friendly Picture Quality (of course, depending on the lenses you use) so get yours today! One thing is i can't find much info on the range of lens it has for alpha700 on the sony website. |

I want i want also.... Which shop got all the item above, wanna go buy tmorow if possible...sg wang ? I'll take the a200 single kit..then buy Sigma 70-300APO with Macro + 50mm F1.4 for potrait..then bags + cf...no need speedlight yet until i master how to take good picture without flash...any other must have filter that i need ? Hood compulsory ? Hmm...wonder if 5k enough or not. But no money yet... bonus haven't out yet. I think by the time bonus out A300/A350 should be arriving. |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Feb 9 2008, 09:30 PM) 5k will be just nice I think. Yo soulfly...Personally I don't really believe in "UV filter"... but I'd get a CPL filter for landscape use. The kit lens will use 55mm filter. I believe the 50mm f1.4 also use the same size. By the way, AF speed between a200 and a300 should be the same I believe. Need you suggestion . For wedding dinner type of environment and travelling . What type of lens for sony alpha should use? |

QUOTE(soulfly @ Feb 10 2008, 03:01 PM) Basically there are 3 metering pattern on an Alpha,multi-segment, center-weighted and spot-metering. Other DSLR might have different kind of metering pattern. multi-segment counts average light from the whole frame, center-weight takes average in the center of the frame, and spot metering meters according to which point you want to meter. I think Ka3tro will able to provide you guys sample more faster.. hahah...Then when you look into the viewfinder, there's an exposure meter. Based on this exposure meter, you'll need to adjust shutterspeed and aperture to create a proper exposure. You might wanna change the ISO as well. We want samples after you wake up. Anyway Tarita... A200 was sold out.. only next week got stock. But they seriously offer CUN price but no stock... haih.. So went to Boeing and got it... Low price also. We both cannot tahan liow. Ok ultra blur liow...need sleep. OK IT works now the register... This post has been edited by Ahmike: Feb 10 2008, 03:15 PM |
