Hi guys,

My company decided to release me as part of downsizing exercise. I want to apply SOCSO EIS, where they ask u 'Tarikh kehilangan pekerjaan'. Tarikh kehilangan pekerjaan means the day after your last day of employment.

So here's the confusing part;

1. 1st notice on 14 Jan, stated our last day is 14 Mac (2 month notice)
2. 2nd notice on 30th Jan, stating management decided to release us earlier and our last day is 31st Jan.

FYI; company is paying in lieu of that 2 months notice, which will be paid out by 15 Feb.

Physically, I'm unemployed now. So which one is my last day of employment, 14th Mac or 31st Jan?

31 January 2019.

They already paid the notice in lieu to you, and terminate your employment earlier.
FYI, I was one of the retrenched employee due to company downsizing exercise.

For notice in lieu, the disadvantage is "no EPF payment"; the advantage is "you can join other company faster.

BTW, you can apply the EIS now.

To echo others.. 31st Jan.

My suggestion is to submit whatever doc you have first. I believe you can add on to it if needed later on.

I submitted my eis on 1st feb and got called and went for the meetup with officer yesterday. According to him payment will be released in 7days from my meetup.
