Hi guys,

My company decided to release me as part of downsizing exercise. I want to apply SOCSO EIS, where they ask u 'Tarikh kehilangan pekerjaan'. Tarikh kehilangan pekerjaan means the day after your last day of employment.

So here's the confusing part;

1. 1st notice on 14 Jan, stated our last day is 14 Mac (2 month notice)
2. 2nd notice on 30th Jan, stating management decided to release us earlier and our last day is 31st Jan.

FYI; company is paying in lieu of that 2 months notice, which will be paid out by 15 Feb.

Physically, I'm unemployed now. So which one is my last day of employment, 14th Mac or 31st Jan?

31 January 2019.

They already paid the notice in lieu to you, and terminate your employment earlier.
FYI, I was one of the retrenched employee due to company downsizing exercise.

For notice in lieu, the disadvantage is "no EPF payment"; the advantage is "you can join other company faster.

BTW, you can apply the EIS now.

To echo others.. 31st Jan.

My suggestion is to submit whatever doc you have first. I believe you can add on to it if needed later on.

I submitted my eis on 1st feb and got called and went for the meetup with officer yesterday. According to him payment will be released in 7days from my meetup.

Cool bro. Update when u rcv the money.

Just got my final payslip. Will proceed to do the necessary by tomorrow.

But the amount is very small which is RM600 each month, and it is for three months only...

I thought this is for those working less than 1 year with the affected company, no?

Better than nothing right?
u paid like RM7 a month for this insurance. How much do you expect it to cover?
*
Actually there's 2 kind of benefits;

1. Interim that's rm600/month
2. Percentage of your last drawn salary stepping down for 6 months (80% down to 20% if i'm not mistaken). This needs to be confirmed.

The monthly premium is dependent on your salary. Junior staff might pay lower than rm2 per month if i'm not mistaken.

OMG...I didnot receive any update from SOCSO after I submitted all documents online.
Nobody call me till now. The last email is I will receive my monthly allowance after 7 days from the email date, but I did not receive any payment after 7 days.

I feel disappointed for their services. shocking.gif

Have u met with the officer assigned to u?

The 1st email I received instructed me to register with the Job Placement Program within 7 working days or the program will be canceled. So I called up the officer assigned, and she asked me to complete my profile online then met her up this morning. Listen to a briefing and sign 1 document.

Wow...I have received the EIS compensation.
Anyone can enlighten me about calculation of EIS compensation?

I thought I will only receive RM600 per month, but looks like more than the amount (RM1K-RM2K extra).
Well, I already drop an email to the SOCSO officer at the same time.

*
Rm600 is for those who worked less than a year at the company before being retrenched.

For u, it's 80% of your salary for the 1st month. 50% next and the last one 20%

I think 80%/50%/40%/40%/30%
But the 80% for first month,  is there a cap limit?
*
Nope, confirmed 3 months only. 80%, 50%, 20%, bye bye.

The cap limit is your basic salary itself. If i'm not mistaken, those above 5k can't apply. Correct me if i'm wrong.

So,  looks like the compensation date is based on the date we submit & socso processing time,  not based on the last day of our employment
*
Exactly, which is unfair to me. A friend of mine, had his application processed very slow (about 3 months), and by the time he got the approval, he already landed a job. He told the officer about this, and they say they will retract the approval. 🤦
