I'm using 100mbps and planning to get a new router. I see page 1 got a few recommendations, but are all those just plug and play? Or do I need to do setup? Which one should I get that can be straight use without configuration?

A7 = can flash openwrt, assuming if you got Version 5 hardware.

https://dd-wrt.com/support/other-downloads/...archer-a7-v5%2F
https://forum.openwrt.org/t/support-for-archer-a7/20790/10

Reason = TP-Link normally stops update for their router after one year. dry.gif  Thus, having third-party firmware support = important
*
actually what does flashing do?

is it better to disable ipv6 on unifi?
And on 2.4ghz I can only reach around 50mbps while 5ghz can reach full 100mbps, is it suppose to be like this?

So I upgraded to 100mbps and I've not use the tm Android box to watch hypptv for a very long time. Today when I try to watch, I get the screen that says I need to subscribe. I thought 100mbps is already included this hypptv? I can watch playtv on my tablet btw..

my connection sometimes disconnect, including wifi and LAN, how can I know if it's TM connection itself not stable or that my router is bad?

If you are using the TP-Link AC1200 v1, it is the router.

Hmm. Bought the archer A6 thinking it would solve the disconnected issue. But it didn't solve anything. Sometimes it will auto reboot. And the reboot takes longer time than tm stock router

Sounds like it is not the router then, and could be something else.
*
That's why I'm wondering, is there any way to find out if the router is the problem, or is it tm connection itself that is not stable? Can we find out from the btu?

Check the router logs. Sound like it could be your BTU.
*

Impossible, A6 doesn't have auto reboot or long starting up issue......other than that IPv6 firewall issue.......

Must be your BTU problem.
*
booting up is longer than the huawei RG4332. with the huawei RG4332, less than a minute it's connected, the A6 takes longer than that

VDSL router?  hmm.gif

A6 only takes around 1 minute to boot up complete.

So....you are saying you use RG4332 in bridge mode, then connect A6 to the RG4332 and use A6 as PPPoE dialer?

Any information on the VDSL statistics?
*
nono, i just straight connect the huawei hg8240w BTU to A6. how to check vdsl?

Login to the router, click the 'Advanced' tab, 'System Tools' on the sidebar to your left, then click 'System Log'. I think it is your BTU's problem.
*
found it, thanks. what error should I be looking for?

QUOTE(JohnLai @ Apr 17 2019, 10:13 PM)
Aik? Now that hg8240w is ONU (Optical).

When you mentioned RG4332, I was thinking you are using VDSL instead of fibre. rclxub.gif

Anyway....did you update your A6 firmware yet?
One of the changelog = device stability.

is it this? Archer A6(US)_V2_190115.. but got the word "US" there

This is either TM issue or your BTU issue.
As you can see, your BTU AUTH light isn't active  hmm.gif

hey guys, I notice my internet has not been stable, so I ran a ping test using LAN and wifi, to www.google.com
I got a few request time out

Packets: Sent = 308, Received = 303, Lost = 5 (1% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 6ms, Maximum = 25ms, Average = 7ms

Im thinking of making a report to TM, question is, is this evidence enough to show them that my line is not stable?
