If by paynothing penalty clause you are referring to the penalty being the remaining months fee, please note that this termination feee was not just introduced now during paynothing promo. It was done a while ago, maybe in the past 1 year or so. I suspect it was done for the exact reason you say, to prevent other providers buying you over by paying the previous RM500 penalty fee.  The remaining months penalty being unfair is a different question, I just want to point out its not a new thing with YEP promo.
*
that means they have been planning for some time now...didn't realised that the new penalty clause has been around for quite some time.

Just called tm 100 line for 5th time ..this time they say all TM user regardless under what contract ..what speed and what monthly price..if apply to Paynothing ....speed and price will remain the same.... Guess tmrow i will call them again... So what is the affirmative answer la??
*
the answer that i got also similar to your what you get previously, 24 month rm139 300mbps plan will convert to rm199 come jan 2020. 2 times some more i requested they confirmed with their superiors/managers, and they called back later to say this plan will be rm199 with or without paynothing come jan2020.

This particular package got quite some contradictory information....

do let us know what the officers at menara tm answered you.

QUOTE(mytaffeta @ Oct 22 2019, 12:12 PM)
for those with 24 mnths discount, better get the paynothing.. discount will change to perpetual = forever instead of 24 mnths only.. unifi insider said, once perpetual, TM cannot remove from system..
*
hard to say la, like they mentioned in their t&c, subject to change without notice sweat.gif

This is weird.. I came to TM Point in Bintulu, Sarawak last week to ask about this. They said monthly bill will remain the same..

There are two possible scenarios in my opinion. My contract has been successfully renewed yesterday and my perpetual discount increased from RM100 to RM120:

Scenario 1:

Currently pay RM139 excluding tax. With this extra RM20 perpetual discount, I'll be paying RM119 excluding tax.

Scenario 2.

Price might be increase as your TM manager said. That extra perpetual discount RM20 will be only used to absorb the hike, so price will not increase at my end. Will be paying the same RM139 bill excluding tax. This is purely my opinion only, and this opinion is formed based on what TM Manager at TM Point Bintulu said, 'no price increase after contract renewal'.
*
seriously don't know what is going on with the information given from different ends....

i really worry that even those under 24 months promo for rm139 300mbps plan, whatever written in the dashboard (perpetual discount/new YEP), later jan 2020, number change to rm199/month...

everyone kena "con"??!! I'm going TM point this weekend to clarify personally.

*

"after 30/12/2019. the price will be RM 199. but if you apply promo pay nothing , will get the waived until 31 dec 2019. start 1st jan 2020, price will be RM 199"

then they called n offer me rm 139. this is not related to Yep promo.

take this, because this one confirm 139 for another 24 months. I rather forgo to "possible" savings of few hundred than to get bill shock beginning jan 2020 yet cannot cancel due to the termination clause.

I wish they called me for this.

QUOTE(mylinear @ Oct 25 2019, 05:12 PM)
I suggest... for now, you deal with your own package. Get the price you are happy with.  Others users can make their won decision based on what they think is best for them. It does not help putting doubts to others when we are not sure of it anyway.
*
The issue is that the "perpetual" price starting jan 2020 is 139 or 199. You never know what happens when the system just switch in the beginning f jan2020. Unless one is to keep their printscreen, there's no recourse if they edit the package detail en mass.

They seem to be able to edit the package anyway they want, hence some people has unbelievably good deal.

I made a complaint to MCMC on the grey area for 300mbps plan with paynothing :
Attached Image

The reply :
Attached Image

In short, for those under 24 months promo rm139 300mbps plan that turbo-ed from 30mbps, please call to double confirm before committing to redeem paynothing. For the record, i live chatted 6 times, 5 times say rm199 after jan2020; through phone 3 times, all said rm199.

For those that under perpetual discount for 300/500/800mbps plan before this paynothing promotion, good for you then. Don't think anything in this YEP can come close to your value unless want to downgrade.

Customer service reply from TM can trust or not? Send complaint to MCMC, TM representative can close MCMC case? IT should be MCMC come back reply to you.

and how come other user with no perpetual discount after apply yep able to upgrade to perpetual discount and get rm 139?

You confirm? later ppl accuae spread misinfornation
*
The complain kept on provisional close up to 30 days, after that consider fully closed. Can open back anytime within the 30 days.

The last paragraph was my own opinion. I standby all the information as per printscreen.

If they accuse me spread false info, kindly report me and get me banned

Why annoying? My comments have impacted your sales, TM ambassador?

FYI I'm using TM Unifi myself now at home. For close to 10 years until just 1st half of this year, I've been paying faithfully RM169 for 10M until I decided to complaint at TM Point to have it lowered to RM89 without the bundled phone calls and TV.

Made the biggest mistake continuing with TM Unifi, should have just waited a few more months probably I'm now on Celcom or Maxis. I should've not trusted this dishonest company, they quietly changed the early termination plan from one time RM500 into this remaining months nonsense.

Never again I'll TRUST this damn company which blocks you if you post too much complains at their FB page. Want to monopolize Malaysian 5G airspace? Dream on idiots!

QUOTE(Candy12 @ Oct 29 2019, 08:54 PM)
Pls. hope some newspaper editor or reporter here take screenshots of these bills and publicize them in the papers.

We demand an explanation from TM for all this billing mess they created. I guess they have one of the most messed up billing system among all ISPs in Malaysia.
Always changing plans, even their own staffs sometimes can't even catch up with the changes and they can never confirm it with their customers.

Why was their TURBO plan so restricted and limited in public information?
Why they only ran the program temporarily and quietly to just a small pool of users?
How come eventually they didn't opened up the 500M and 800M plans at affordable rates to their home customers?

I live in a highly dense populated area in Menjalara Kepong where Desa Park City is just by walking distance. How come my building has been stuck with miserable VDSL2 upto 30M for over 10 years?

My building has more than close to 100% ports takeup rate for HSBB. Why?
*
QUOTE(Candy12 @ Oct 29 2019, 08:59 PM)
Why are TM ambassadors now starting to label me as Maxis fan? Running short of ideas to attack me is it?

By the way if I were to recommend people who live in the Klang Valley to switch, I would say go for Celcom Fibre or DiGi/ViewQwest if its available in some of your areas.

Celcom Home Fibre is the most interesting plan to look at now. Excellent connectivity to China content. No remaining months early termination just RM500, downgrade fee just costs RM50 one time and your contract still continues no renewal.

TM should learn from their sister company Axiata Celcom which is so much more aggressive and innovative.

Look, here's the deal, i'm also pissed with how tm/unifi does things. But look at the fairer side of things and reconsider :
1) whatever stated in the user's contract, is the minimum delivery standard. If they under deliver, you have every right to complain the shit out of them and even take legal action, because the delivery standard is stated in the contract. However if they over deliver and they don't ask for more money out of it, seriously nothing is wrong with that. User lagi happy.
2) yes, it is quite a shit hellhole with so many different packages/plans with different prices. But again, if tm is over-delivering, it is their problem to deal with the inconsistencies and confusion. Yes, other users may not feel happy, but their contract terms didn't have anything about lowest price guarantee that you see on certain e-commerce sites. Maybe unethical, but i think it maybe legal. Again, legally nothing against over-delivering.
3) unless there is a separate fair and reasonable party taking over the infrastructure ownership and management, there is nothing you can do about service consistency favouring the owner ™. We have no idea what kind of service agreement whatever ISP had with TM when they want to "rent" TM's infrastructure. Time has no such shit issues like other fibre providers because they bao ka liao end to end, everything they manage and control.
4) on celcom fibre's advantages, the best is the termination clause....but if you read the terms carefully :
a) do you know that the ONU only 1 year limited warranty? TM warranty you for LIFE as long as you're under their contract. Tukar berapa kali also nevermind, i just changed mine not to long ago FOC, because the connection not stable due to overheating of the ONU unit and resplice the fibre optic. Sometimes, if you pandai-pandai and good relationship with the contractor, can even help you replace your router.
b) if you move house, you incur additional RM200 to "transfer" your account to another branch servicing your new location. For TM, no such issue. As one forumer stated, transfer of ownership ini macam pun boleh.
c) if you ffk/reschedule installation date from initial appointment, any change is rm200 unless give 4 days advance notice. I'm presuming this also applies to after sales service issues. For TM, if you give reasonable time ahead, the contractor has no qualms rescheduling, even half a day before you tell them need to reschedule also ok, FOC, come another day.
d) there is no guarantee that celcom won't "over-deliver" for certain users, but chances definitely lower because of margin concerns.

i also looked into celcom when i undergone this fiasco, but item 4a and 4c is quite a tough consideration because ONU can die at anytime. This one TM takes the cake. And there is no guarantee that celcom after sales service is any better.

The discount most probably will maintain that RM139 forever until I terminate as one of the staff told me but we never know the actual thing until Jan 2020 bills come.
*
Please ask multiple times and get an "average" of their replies, kind of stupid but that's the best shot for now until TM/unifi make a clarified stance for 24 month 300mbps turbo rm139 plan.

I live chatted 6 times and had 3 calls, 8 out of 9 say jan 2020, new price is rm199. Kind of misleading, but they insist as it is. You can also log in an MCMC complaint for this misleading/grey area info.

I am paying RM109 for 300 mbps with ultimate package but no free call. Went to TM point to enquire about the YE promo. Was told not take up the offer as this is already a good package.

If I were to take up the offer will my package will be refreshed?  What if i did not? Will my package will be refreshed as well since i am not bounded by any contract now?

Anyone is in similar situation?
*
Log into your unifi portal, if your discount is already stated perpetual, you're likely safe to continue on despite losing out a few hundred savings from pay nothing.

It would actually think that to not bound yourself to another 2 years is a good thing. You're free to hop if you find a better deal from other ISPs.
