Initially I dont apply atm card but my cimbclick cant do transfer, so no choice I went to apply atm card. I normally bank in my salary to current acct to save interest then use it to pay the bills and credit card. The current acct already charge me rm10/month, some more hv pay this atm/debit card fee but I seldom withdraw from atm. Last year withdraw only 2 times from atm and I dont really need it. Cimbclikc really suck that you can only transfer if you register using atm card... HenryJay liked this post

Go to Cimb ask them for free basic saving account. They will give you all kind of excuse not to open it. Kindly ignore and continue to insist for it. Once basic saving account open, close your current account. To u can still use same login for cimb clicks. Your new basic saving account should be there. Keep in mind the amount of atm withdrawla/month and counter visits for the free basic saving accoubt. Case settle. |

Not sure about other banks, for my bank personal and joint savings and loan under single bank, I have terminated the atm/debit card. Now using online to monitor and do transactions.
I have only 1 atm/debit card from another bank and I used that for withdrawals. Short of balance, just instant transfer and withdraw. Not necessary to carry many cards even if is free. |

I am taking cimb full flexi house loan, so current account is must. But it is very funny cimb request you must have atm card else transfer is not allowed in cimbclicks. Firstly I register cimbclicks with my current acct, however I cant perform any transfer in cimbclicks. Call them and they told you must have atm card first. This is the way they earn more money from customers. In other banks I dont see they need you must have atm card to perform transfer in online banking

I requested cimb to deactivate (not sure if this is the right word) my debit card functions instead of cancelling it and I have not been charged for the card fee since then. |
