Hmm, i think we should have got an idea on what shops should be avoided and what shops are reliable after so many replies.

Penang's market size for High End products is small. What we get here are mostly the mainstream products by makers like TT, CM only. Heck we could not even find a shop which has instant stock for a Silverstone PSU here. When we try to find coolers, our search is automatically restricted to Cooler Master, Zalman and some cheapo brands. I could not even get myself a decent NB heatsink after searching around at almost all the shops i know.

We still need to really build up the market here in order to get some more decent stuff flowing in. With the penangite mindset of Want Cheap, Want Fresh and Want Big Boobs we will never be able to move beyond where we are now.

Not yet have enuff capital lar bro.

@KC, i will tear up my rig most probably during the weekends, so if can we meet up and i pass you the stuff lar. I wanna fix my PcCooler HB-771s on my northbridge. It has been sitting on my table for ages since i got it from Shawty. I might also need to discuss a little stuff with you. Need to get a system from Swisspac, need a very very very cheap system as budget is very very tight for my customer. Margin also very very very very very very low.

Hmm, wanna ask something. Since we have so many members in POC, anyone every run on a Dell System before? I would like to know the system and proc temperatures of the system as they have their very own heatpipe cooling devices, the design looks promising. And anyone ever tried to run an aftermarket 8800GTX with a 375w Dell PSU? I heard that some Dell Dimension 9200s come with 8800GTX and run on the very same 375w PSU that every 9200 runs on.

Btw, RM16k for a pc is still fine to me. Have you guys ever heard about RM20k just for a casing? Yes, it's not a myth, it's not USD converted to MYR, the owner is a Malaysian and the case was built in Penang.

Wierd, those who i heard of mostly earns 5 figures...

That is why, it's only a casing and they spent 20k on it. I mean that is purely insane, if they have nbtd than to splash money that way, why dun they give it to me...

Let me describe. There's a shop with a lot of CM casings and some Zalman stuff as well, should be the biggest shop in that area, but totally Noob Shop.
Opposite that shop, there's one which displays a few sets of Logitech speakers, they can do special order for logitech stock.
Few months back i ask them to quote me price for Z5300, and they called me after 2 days telling me it's around RM1,500, i was and asked them again only they realise they quote me the wrong model as Z5300 already EOL tat time.
But the NOOB shop which sells loadsa CM casings, totally noob, i went to look for a NB heatsink, they ask me, what's a NB heatsink?

Btw KC, wat bad experience u have with AMD?
Ur AMD proc got eaten by mouse ar?

The processor battle is just like a very fast spinning wheel.
Today Intel on top, tomorrow change position and it keeps changing.

Anyone watched Chuck and Larry? The battle is just like a circle, it has no corners and it never ends. Unlike a triangle, it has 3 corners and it will eventually come to an end.

Intel does have an upper hand for now, but how long will this situation stay, we have no idea.
AMD seems to be a little caught off guard when Intel released the C2D which triumphed.
However, they are still trying their best to come out with something...

Intel will not have an issue on the technology, but i was wondering will they be on time to suplply their 45nm chips for the mass market.
Just like what happened to AMD with their 65nm chips.

I'm looking at the Liteon one, cz seems to be quite good as well.
The pioneer that strongbaby selling, i used to have one, but did not even manage to burn 1 single piece of DVD and got a full refund from the seller. So i would sugest not to go for the Pioneer, eventhough a pioneer had always been top of my choice. And it also cost so much more.

KC, u take Asus...hmm, Asus or Liteon. LG i dunno lor, last time LG used to be good, now dunno. During the 4163b days it was damn reliable.

KC, from the reviews and feedback i read from CD Freak forum, it seems the LG looks more promising. The only bad part about it is it doesn't have light scribe for the H62N model. The H62L model does come with LS. I'm not sure which model strongbaby is bringing in.

The Samsung looks not bad also from reviews but nobody taking.

I already placed order for the LG. So it depends on which you want. The Asus is quite slow, only second slowest to Liteon in many occasions in Harwarezone's reviews.

The negative comments about the liteon is that it's slow and noisy.

The Samsung is being compared to the LG as the better ones other than Pioneer and Plextor.

But from my past experience as well, samsung optical drives sucks big time...
