Thanks for your reply, but those Fox Sports channels are also not listed under Premium channels category.

Hopefully it's just a delay or error in updating the channel list.

from the info so far i read, for existing customers....

1. u sign new contract 24 months x rm10 pm to get this new box... looks like u can use old+new, i.e. 2... max 1+3 = 4 for one account.
it is unclear if it means the additional boxes will run as STB to get 4k/hd channels or like other boxes using the app to get SD/poor hd quality...?

2. or "upgrade" to one of those new packages with 2 yr contract.
problem is there are many who are now paying rm189, 179, 169, 159... for 300, 500, 800mbps.
nobody will "upgrade" from 800 to 300mbps and pay more (RM199) just to get the new box!!

my conclusion - for existing customers who previously had free upgrades >300mbps and paying <rm199, this new box offer is meaningless.

perhaps just wait... later in the year, some other offers may come out..?

can the new box, on wifi, work like a normal unifi STB on lan4 using built in app, to get the best quality PQ, and not the crappy playtv apk quality?

i think it is the latter... so, unifi may also be trying to sell the new box like any other android box but at 2x the price and only 2+8gb.

can't do much with it, more so if they put all kinds of restrictions to protect themselves from warranty and accidental mistakes requiring service trips.

Hi, just wanted feedback from people here. I'm currently using unifi 500Mbps (Turbo Upgrade 2018) with Ultimate Pack package. Currently paying RM242.75 with 6% SST included. Comparing my current plan with the new 300Mbps, these are the difference between those 2:

if u r right, and i think you will be... using the new box on wifi is no diff from using other box with playtv apk.

that means it is pretty useless...

it is just a 2+8gb amlogic s905x2 box... sure u can install other apps... netflix will be 480p for sure.... what for?
i am only interested in this new box to the extent (i assume) that if i use it with lan4, it will give me the 4k/hd unifitv+bbc iplayer+others if i wish.

no interest with the low grade playtv app or other apps as this can be achieved with a much cheaper box... rm160 can get 4+64gb s905x3 android9 now.

Never knew about this. If that's the case, I just might maintain my current plan, add the Unifi TV Plus and just cancel the Talktime. Thanks for the tip

the talk time is free, not included in the bills, how to cancel?

Since the new Love Nature channel is 977kbps in com.tm.playtv, I guess it's not available in HD or 4K on the new STB too. Anyone with new STB can check?

I can use com.tm.playtv since last year so I have been migrated. Been subscriber for few years. A newer subscriber that I know hasn't been migrated yet.

Addon: suggest we use the package name (com.xxx.xxx) when mentioning the apps to prevent misunderstandings.

I can sign in to com.tm.playtv since December. Before that I get the not migrated message as well. My white box has changed to new interface for quite some time now. The box is still using same old customized Android 4.x. There is no migrating to new ATV OS. The only change is launcher, UI and Netflix pre installed but not launchable.

So now with new STB we can sign in to 5 devices and the STB is also counted together with the other playTV devices? I haven't sign in on more devices after 15 Jan.

Update: Just tested by signing in to web. Still shows 2 devices. Is the new STB / Android TV app actually counted together with other playTV devices?
Update2: I can sign in new app (com.tm.playtv) and STB changed to new interface around early December. The new app was released on 19 November.

Right... white box is android4.4.2, i think.

But if it did not migrate to ATV os, the app should be 1.2.10 regular android rather than 1.1.4 ATV, no?

Or u already checked, it is 1.1.4? If so, it must be some customized version.

Previously, besides stb, u can use 2 other devices for playtv app.

I hv not read anywhere that after migratoin u can now do 5 other devices total.... maybe that applies to new subscribers and those paying +rm10 only...?

Yes, my old white STB I still use on my living room with 4K TV while the new black STB I put it inside my room with my old non-4k LED TV. I use a Wifi Extender so the Wifi can reach the room without using any cable (have to use the 2.4Ghz wifi though). Have to say the wifi for the black STB is quite good as it can detect the wifi faster and more stable compared to my old non-4k LED TV. That's my setup for now until more verified 4k channels is out for Hypptv then maybe I'll switch the STB.

Hey, thanks for noticing  Even though the Black STB can support up to 4k2k-60hz (3840x2160/60p), but the channel is blurry where you could see the jagged edges on the text which shows the channel is not 4k yet. So the technician that came to install the Black STB inform me that for now have to change the resolution to 1080i-50hz (1920x1080/50i) to see a clearer image which is pretty much the same resolution for the White STB. The good side of the Black STB that it is Wifi Enable STB and the Wifi is quite receptive though the interface is backward compared to the White STB which has Mosaic View (which I prefer for now).
