Before you commit, please request for a "test run" to see if you will hit the lock when you drive, especially when you wear sneakers.

I removed mine after two weeks. The feeling of hitting the lock each time I brake is damn "geli", if you know what I mean.

I recommend locktech.
Locktech second lock is on the right hand side, so if you're right handed, will be much easier to insert the key and twist it to unlock the second lock.

Redbat second lock is on the left, so those righthanded people will struggle a little bit to insert and twist the key to unlock the second lock.

If the shop have both type of pedal locks available, you can try them before they install it in your ride

I'm using Autolock. Same type as below, but older style cross lock key.

user posted image

Been using it for more than 10 years in my old manual corolla. Car was broken into twice before. Once was to steal coins. That was in IOI Mall open air car park. They would probably would stole the car if they had a parking ticket. Still the auto lock probably deterred them.

The other time was in Puchong Jaya near Proton showroom. The car was nearly driven off as the the ignition key slot was mangled. But car cannot change gear due to the lock in place at clutch pedal. They stole a new UPS battery instead that i had in my car that time.

I am not going to gloat that this thing works. I bought it because my car does not have an alarm system. And it is only RM90 after i used some JUSCO vouchers for it. (Yes it is that long!)

Pros : What i said above.

Cons : It is heavy. It is a hassle to put away because it is about 2 feet in length retracted. Cumbersome to engage and take out. Could pinch your fingers when the locking rod slides down. Metal can rust when powder coating & chrome chips away.

Unmentioned usage : I actually used it to hit a Honda City that was driven by thieves that snatch my customer bag & phone. Grab the lock extend full length to 4 feet, and it is instant bludgeon weapon. Only managed to smash their tiny rear window as they make their escape hastily.

I'm using LockTech for my Vellfire, if whoever bought a Vellfire/Alphard, and ask me about safety, this is a must and don't park your Vellfire/Alphard without this lock even you park inside your garage.

Don't get me wrong, it's not 100% unbreakable, if the thief has the pedal lock knowledge, still can settle in half an hour.

When I first bought my car 6 years ago, I use both pedal and steering lock... smile.gif dah lebih nie...

I have doubts that these locks are safe in an event of frontal collision. Manufacturers are working hard to design dashboard and steering column along with knee airbags but these locks just isn't in the right position in event of accident.
My personal opinion is, occupant safety prevails over safety of the car.

There is a possibility of being impaled by that lock that is in fixed position in the car. I do think that having a removable lock in my car that i have now would also be a projectile that could hurt me or people outside if i was involved in a violent collision.

But then again, you could flag any car on the street to see whats inside their cars, and very likely it has a bunch of unnecessary stuff inside that could injure in an event of a collision.

That baseball stick lock is not as good because easier to remove by cutting the steering, and you can also still steer a bit even with it attached. Pedal locks on the other hand is harder to remove because you cannot cut the pedal as the steel is much harder and thicker than steering. I also don't like the fixed pedal locks because seems obstrusive.

Using locktech and steering lock.

For locktech, when they install I told them not to connect the wires.
