It's not that hard to install the google services.
You can download/install it directly via Mi App Store.

Even though it called "China ROM" it does comes with english language when you first time boot it up.
I still prefer China ROM because it will get update first than the global rom.

After using the RN 7 for about 4 days now, encountered some minor issues:-

1. volte is disabled on my phone, even if i have activated thru the telco (digi), so it needs a special code to enable volte option under sim card management & restart of the phone for the feature to be enabled.

2. the notification icon will disappear after 3 seconds when receiving incoming emails, whatsapps, etc..is it an intended feature under Miui or what, i dunno..but very strange..even if all the notification icon app has been enabled under the settings..

3. cannot change notification sound on yahoo, gmail & even wechat..except for whatsapp..there's no options to choose notification sound or such..again...a bit weird..

maybe i try to clear cache, or do a hard reset on the phone see how..but overall, quite a good upgrade from my RN4..bigger & brighter screen, improved features on android P vs N..battery life quite good so far..

Regarding your concerns:

1. If you inset Yes sim card into the Redmi Note 7, it will automatically activates VoLTE on the phone. Since Digi doesn't officially support this device for VoLTE, the firmware is set not to enable when Digi sim card is inserted.

2. This is one of the reason why some people dislike MIUI as for the notched phone, the icon will automatically hide after a few seconds and this behavior couldn't be disabled.

3. Seems like you can't do it on MIUI, not really sure about it.

but my old RN4 has that options bro..that's why it's funny this new version of miui doesn't have those options..maybe got bug on the app..ahaha

I'm using Redmi 5 Plus currently and there's no option for me to select notification sound specifically for apps. Perhaps your Redmi Note 4 comes with China ROM?

I hate China ROM because you need to redo the trick everytime there's a major update. At least that was my experience up until 3-4 years back.

i see, yes..it could be my set is the China set on my RN4.. both yahoo & gmail has the options to select sound there..

what about ur current RN7, does it have those options?

i guess we purchase from the same seller, i got mine too yesterday.

hope i didnt make the wrong decision.

No option for setting for apps independently on global rom regardless of device.

Searched thru frequencycheck.com. U r 100% correct. No Band 7 on India version.

Thanks, already enabled but didn't see the VoLTE logo on top of the network signal. I'm using Digi which already called Digi activated the VoLTE

actually, the prompt operator check disabled must appear first, then u go to sim card settings, under Digi, u will see the volte options appear..enable it & then restart your phone to see the effect.. hope it helps

so just beware to choose chinese rom in ap set....

if no one said, i really dun know anything about lte band requirement
