Seems like HOC that happened during 1998-1999 is coming back anytime soon.......

Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng said for homes priced up to RM2.5 million, the stamp duty on transfer of ownership title or memorandum of transfer (MOT) will be waived for the first RM1 million and reduced to 3% for the subsequent RM1.5 million. The 3% stamp duty will revert to 4% after the campaign ends.

I know only first time buyers are eligible for waiver of stamp duties on S&P/loan agreements. How about the waiver of stamp duty on MOT which is added later? Anyone here can confirm with source?

From What I understand now is open to the public regardless of you are first homebuyer or not, and all HOC products must be registered under REHDA.

Products sold under HOC are referring to those "overhang" unsold units from developers which needs to register under Rehda.

Of coz individual unit is meant for subsale and not inclusive into the HOC campaign.

The main objective for the HOC campaign is to help developer to clear stock those overhang units.

Most development done were on the fringes of Klang Valley like Rawang, Semenyih, Bukit Beruntung etc. where most people shun these areas. The majority would want to be located within KV.

Even cash rich investors avoid these areas because it is not easy to get renters to rent out later on unless the investors are unwise ones.

HOC will not only consists of those rural area, even to be frank within KL area also gt unsold unit. Rakyat just simply cant afford for a house unit for those ordinary folks on the street.....

But still, these is an avenue to help developer to clear their overhang unit, although I have a bit reserved on this coming HOC is able to resort for all this overhang issue....

Some developers are already absorbing the stamp duties on S&P and loan agreements right now. What is the point to this? It does not even apply to subsale buyers anyways :/ From what I see, it is only benefiting the developers to have what they usually do be advertised in the name of govt

If Im not wrong, as long as the developer is registered under REHDA, I think their project is qualified to be enrolled under HOC.....

I'm not sure if Developers will sell some of the good location properties. Especially for landed houses.

Was reading the FAQ on the HOC campaign page and came upon this question below. Does this mean most serviced apartments would be included as long as they are registered under Rehda for the campaign?

Yeah by right should be in this case, as long as developer registered under REHDA and property is governed under HDA Clause, then it is qualify. however, suggest to double check with developer staff before commit anything till.

Well...... actually the cost of stamp duties on S&P and loan agreements are already included in the selling price. There is no such thing as a TRULY FREE benefits from housing developers.

Yeah well, this initiative in itself is to encourage home buyers who do not own enough cash to purchase their first homes. Yes they will be included in selling price but no doubt it is going in the same direction as the developers' initiatives to sell those houses without first time buyers to worry about upfront cash.

I would highly doubt it. Good location = high price =/= first home buyer. But then again, it's my opinion. Lets wait to tomorrow. I will be going there to "sibuk"

None of the one mentioned 20% rebate, at least for the one that looked “promising”. I didn’t ask OSK’s project
