QUOTE(Roman Catholic @ Mar 7 2020, 11:44 AM) Most battery resellers around my area are no longer carrying Panasonic for whatever reason. I am keeping my fingers crossed that my current Panasonic will hold out until the end of this year, it will reach 48 months by then. Which matches that of my previous Century's Marathoner. Yeah. Their battery is very solid. I always change it at Honda service centre. So far I have not encountered the time that they do not have stocks. Seriously I only change the battery for twice for my 9 years old car until now. Very reliable and durable.I was secretly wishing that the Panasonic would hold out even much longer with all the love and care that it has been given, however at the 36 month mark, the lead-acid battery started degrading. Will see what happens next. Hope to use it continuously. |

QUOTE(Roman Catholic @ Mar 7 2020, 11:56 AM) Hmmmm 9 years and 2 changes, now that is really impressive. 54 months. Now I know what to benchmark my Panasonic with. 😊 I am not sure about the battery size. The price paid close to rm200 including labour and tax everything. Done at service centre and not at ah beng shop.Curious bro, what is your battery size and how much did you paid for the Panasonic batteries ? QUOTE(Roman Catholic @ Mar 7 2020, 12:35 PM) Assuming that your battery size is NS40ZL, a rough glance at Lazada online shows that only 2 other batteries brands that exceeds the Rm200 mark, despite many other online sellers. With the current economy situation, I think many just opts for the cheapest but little do they know, that it is the most expensive option. Good no cheap and cheap no good situation still holds true. Honda service is selling two models of Panasonic batteries. 55B24L and 38B24L. Mine should be the 38B24L. I remember a battery reseller here telling me that Panasonic is of better quality with how many plates etc, as if I was going to open the casing to count. That explains the higher pricing. Then he recommended some other unknown brand to me, citing he had no Panasonic stocks on hand. With cheaper batteries flooding the market, good quality brands will have to fight a uphill battle for market share, especially with resellers opting for those battery with the biggest of margins and that cannot be possible for good quality brands. I sure hope Panasonic sticks around longer in the business. Only then there will be competition which is good for us all, as consumers. Price seems to be increased now. After all, my current one is already many many years. Last Saturday I just did my service, the battery health is still very very good. |

QUOTE(Thrust @ Mar 7 2020, 04:55 PM) Yes.. If possible, try to go longer distances to keep the battery charged up. Dun think nowadays battery need to do that. I left my cars two weeks without starting it is also ok.My car is left stationary from Monday to Friday.. Only on weekends will I start her up. So far, it starts right up without hesitation. There is no such thing that one needs to start the engine to charge the battery just to keep it ‘alive’ for every few days. I went overseas last time for two weeks also ok. |

QUOTE(Thrust @ Mar 14 2020, 08:27 PM) It really depends on cars. Some cars doesn't suck up battery juices but there are others which will drain out the battery if it was left unattended for days. when car is off engine. how can the battery be used? If it happens, likely it is ur battery problem that cannot hold the charge. |
