great to find this thread i have a foxsur charger, when I charge the battery in the car engine bay, do I actually need to disconnect the terminals first? And should I connect the negative clamp from the charger to the car battery -ve terminal or the car unpainted metal part?

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jan 5 2025, 08:19 PM) Same charger. But I always recommend to disconnect both + & - b4 connect to charger. Put the Foxsur + cable to the + terminals of the battery and same goes to the negative, Charger to the negative terminal normally I don't like to disconnect as all radio and clock will reset

QUOTE(Roman Catholic @ Jan 7 2025, 09:26 AM) No bro., you are correct and that is the reason why technical service buletins advices so. So the next logical question is, if the ECU gets fried while charging a battery thats connected to the vehicle, will the manufacturer of chargers take responsibility and bear the damages sustained ? the the charge from the charger should be around the same as from alternator, right? on the other hand, will it affect the alternator ah sry, forgot to combine post This post has been edited by alexwsk: Jan 11 2025, 07:42 PM

QUOTE(4WD_er @ Aug 17 2025, 02:58 PM) I have 2 battery chargers. The first one i bought was Bosch C7, second one was a cheapo Foxur charger. Somehow I have the feeling that the Bosch C7 never really charged to full. Hence for normal MF battery i use Foxur. (Picanto) For my other car with AGM, I use the Bosch C7. when u charge, need to unplug the battery terminals connecting to the cars first? if not unplug will have any issue?
