I believed the word is called float charging.
i have left my Foxsur for around 2-3 weeks while i was away
it also has a float charging function which keeps it 100% charged.
No doubt Bosch has a stronger brand name but for me so far my China made Foxsur charger has been doing its job well also. Especially it has LCD display to show voltage and charging amps.

Yes even if you remove the car battery when not in used for long period of time, the car battery will discharge by its own too.  Further more, whenever you re-connect both terminals of the car battery, there may be an in rush of electric current which may potentially kill the electronics components of the car Management Computer Unit (MCU). One simple mistake could have fry your MCU which may cost thousands of dollars to replaced.

so basically its alright to plug in the car charger to the 12v battery while its connected right? while ensuring that all electronics (radio/ac/light are turned off) instead of having to disconnect it to recharge and reconnecting it again to avoid the potential rush of electric current to the electronics components.
