China drivers also been detected infected with corona virus.
Local news reports so far indicate there are at least five cases of taxi and ride-hailing drivers being diagnosed with the coronavirus. A driver in southern Hainan province, for example, continued to work via multiple ride-hailing platforms even after showing symptoms of the disease on January 27. The local government said this driver, who kept working until he went to hospital on January 31, was diagnosed with the disease on February 4, according to reports. The governments in Beijing and Shanghai have recently announced measures to contain the spread of the coronavirus on taxi and ride-hailing services. Drivers have been directed to wear face masks, open the window after each ride and disinfect their vehicles regularly. I would be opening my windows during the rides for safety precaution. Enclosed Air conditioned in up close circulation or contact definitely carry high risk of infection. |

Anti bacterial spray only works on Toyota bacterial and would not work as a disinfectant for Corona virus whereas the anti virus spray might work for bacterial infection.
There are two types of disinfectant that is currently "deemed effective " for coronavirus but coronavirus have different strains. The two are Lysol and Cholox . Documents submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency show that Clorox and Lysol sprays and wipes are able to list “Human Coronavirus” on their labels because those products were tested against human coronavirus 229E. But it is not test on Nova Corona virus which just emerged just late last year outbreak. And Dettol itself said it is ineffective for virus as a disinfectant. https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/coron...idence-21413814. So, the best protection with spray or wipes is LYSOL and CHOLOX. Yes the cholox that is used as a whitener. |

Sometimes it is better to take the KFC chicken nuggets than Ah Yat shark fin soup.
2km ride from BB to IMBI got RM18 plus Rm7 which took me 15 minutes to complete the trip. 6km ride from Imbi to Chow Kit got Rm22 plus Rm5 which took 25 minutes to complete . |

QUOTE(destiny6 @ Feb 15 2020, 02:00 PM) This kind of booking surely makes drivers like a cockerel goes Kok kok kok kok ......when they see the soar high fare of RM500 and see it disappeared into thin air. Whenever the payment is cash for soar high fare, 99.9% the riders are doing to make the drivers get hard on to get the kick out of it. My best guess is some bored taxi fellas waiting at 1 U mall making the booking. |

I aint moving.......because I aint hard up for this job.
Most of all, my gut feelings told me that all that glitter wasnt not gold. Just KFC chicken nugget ride order. True enough, it was cancelled when I was exiting out from the mall after dropping the riders. |

QUOTE(skylinelover @ Mar 6 2020, 03:16 PM) Haha same here IMHO, grabbing riders is a high risk job where chances of getting infected is high in up close and personal enclosed airconditioned car. In fact, chances are even higher with the riders as passengers are touching car handles and seats. If there achoo......the virus would fly everywhere. I treat the PSV exam like the SPM exam Die die must pass that kind of mentality Nope Corona is the cause of almost 0 demand I decided not to drive where I dun think I cannot bear under lock and keys in hospital rooms for weeks if kena Toyota Corona virus. And I think it is less risky to grab some loose changes at the roulette tables at Genting Highland to beat boredom. I would played at the electronic section where I dun even have to touch cash. Whenever I need to cash my winning credits, I have my disposable glove on. Been up to the mountain with my brother from overseas for more than a week spinning wheels of fortune. Now just awaiting to win the four wheels cars in the Genting Lucky draw contest. |

QUOTE(destiny6 @ Mar 11 2020, 10:20 PM) Nice choice with Genting giving free money everyday for the month of March since you are spinning roulette, I believe you know the formula to launder it eh..... Got free rooms from platinum relatives and free makan spinning wheels of fortune. Was losing monies but luckily recovered and even made monies before leaving to send my brother back to KLIA. I was supposed to be a tour guide for my brother but because of toyota corona virus and political uncertainties, cancelled trips from KL to Penang , Penang to =Kelantan, Club Med to Bentong . So just chilled at Genting highlands. and Ipoh. There is no formula to beat the Genting Banker especially in Slot machines and Roulette. The only best shot you can get is playing 21 or baccarat. Pelik tapi benar, Dai Sai dice is another bad bet to play but was lucky strikes with 233 on two occasions with payout of 30X in Rm25 bets. I have never played Dai Sai in the states or MY country casino. And I walked away with more than Rm2,000 richer. |

Political uncertainties already see jobless like YB Loke where he may be grabbing riders. But Toyota Corona virus which was declared as pandemic would see serious implications to the economy where millions of jobs lost worldwide.
More drivers and less demands from riders is bad but in case of curfew or lockdown would be a nightmare. Worst of all, being infected!!! If you need to drive, ensure you have the mask on, hand glove, google to reduce the risk of infection. And wind down the window while carrying riders and ensure you disinfect the car under the hot sun by winding up the window. It would probably help . Stay safe everyone. |

QUOTE(kelvinyam @ Mar 14 2020, 01:25 AM) I sanitize my car after end of business day. I use non alcohol sanitizer (water base) and spray on my seats with spray bottle. I bought 5 liters at RM80+ from Shopee which would last for a few months I hope. The efficacy of using non alcohol is doubtful. Even those with alcohol has to be above 60% to be effective against bacteria and viruses. Similarly, some viruses have an outer wrapping, which is called an envelope, while others are non-enveloped. Alcohol is effective at killing enveloped viruses but is less effective at killing non-enveloped viruses. I had just decided to stop doing Grab for a while as the risk is just too high. The news I read about the increased of cases to 198 really scare the shit out of me. I don't want my family to get sick. I should have enough to pay bills by month end. Then I'll have to assess the situation again. Stay safe guys. The best way to kill viruses would be washing it with water over 20 seconds to high heat and ultra violets rays. IMHO, best way to sanitize your car is in the hot sun with window closed. And it is FOC From old mean chef who has had been cooking bacteria and virus with years of medical experiences. I have stopped grab riders since weeks ago because it is no fun getting Toyota Corona virus and may also infect my family and friends. Precaution can only minimize the risk but no guarantee as one sneeze can travel round the car. And driving with disposal mask and plastic hand glove is so uncomfortable in Malaysian hot weather. With over 230 cases detected, the risk is too high to take chances. |

QUOTE(kelvinyam @ Mar 15 2020, 11:15 AM) The below info was forwarded to me by the seller. Unless she's BS'ing me, else it should be effective. The Olde Mean Chef is credited with tons of disinfectant sold to MY general hospitals back in 80's. In order for MY hospitals to buy, the request to order had to be vetted by various dept from Pharmacy to Specialists and recommended by Dermalogist or Virologist. --- This is liquid base . Prevent from fire occurred . It’s alternative for alcohol formulation from infection pandemic. Active Ingredients for Non Alcohol Hand Sanitisers Triple Power : Didecyldimethylammoniumchloride Alkyldimethylbenzylammoniumchloride Citric Acids Plants based iSayman, either she is clueless or she is misleading you with the clinical paper link. In other words - BS you. As far as I know , no consumer hand santizer is labelled as Virus killer. If you can comprehend reading the clinical paper, it stated efficacy against microbes such as bacteria. Covid 19 is virus not bacteria. I have no vested interest to sell anything to kill Covid 19. My interest is to share my cooking stories based on my experience and knowledge. I am happy if I can limit the infection, save a life or two. After all, it is outside the box and free.
