It's actually quite easy to create a thread.
Because currently I don't know who owns the pocket, maybe in the future I will add the list. Thanks for the suggestion

The pocket got built in mic. You can add your own mic too but need to get their accessories to put the mic

I have mine since 21/12. Bought in Singapore, ship to a friend's house and that friend bought it to me because he was coming home.

The same week I also bought Insta 360 One X, and sad to say I've been playing more with One X than with my Osmo Pocket haha. But yeah going to start seriously playing with it this year.

Now I am just joining as many groups I can find on FB to learn more tips and tricks, along with looking at official and unofficial accessories that I might want.

Anyone interested in this original DJI Osmo Pocket Accessory Mount please let me know. I am considering to do a bulk purchase directly from overseas since it's not available here yet. Price will depend on the number of order (estimated between RM105 - RM115 excluding delivery charges).

Lead time : 7 - 12 working days

Payment : full payment required

Order closing date : 06/01/2019

For those who want to order OP via Lazada, I have come across there are many complaints about order being automatically cancelled by Lazada system due to delivery deadline overdue. So my advice is better confirm with seller about the stocks availability date before placing your order so that you don't waste your time waiting for nothing. Choose to buy from reputable and responsible sellers.

My recommendation :
LazMall DJI official store
MARCH

I use mostly for car show n my kids. Last time I'm using feiyu a2000 but too troublesome to setup. But of course I won't compare apple with orange for the quality. Mirrorless vs small sensor

for me
Osmo Pocket is more for getting good quality video anywhere & very lightweight.
i dont need to bring camera & gimbal.
even phone has good quality, gimbal for phone is still huge.

another is the idea of 4k 60fps biggrin.gif

FPV allows for roll which can result in jerky video movements. Try follow mode with fast follow enabled thumbsup.gif (it's almost as good without the rolling)

Exactly. If you travel nak cakap2, explain & present stuff Osmo. If you travel nak tunjuk aksi like riding boat/jetski/dive gopro. If you nak tunjuk track A to B, 360 cam such as Insta 360 One X is better because they get all around footage and can be reframed later.

Went to thaipusam to test out the osmo pocket.
hadn't had time to edit yet.
looking at the footage tho, so worth it smile.gif
4k 50fps for the win

also , tested pluggin in usb type c to jack to try out mic.
but none of the mic works with the jack (lavalier, rode videomic) .
both TRS or TRRS type does not work.
sad.

bila la the accesory for audio nak sampai sini.

The best review I have read so far for the critical minds:
https://myfirstdrone.com/dji-osmo-pocket-vs...ro-hero-7-black

Going to get Osmo Pocket today, hopefully Altech have them in stock.

Anyone know where to get a better deal?

Just to clarify on the review, it still says Pro Mode could not be accessed without connecting to a phone.

An update early Feb has unlocked Pro Mode for Osmo Pocket even without connecting to a phone.

Went to Altech this afternoon but they do not have in-store.
Given a package with PGYTech ND Filters (4 pieces), Screen protector, Lexar 64GB Card, GoPro adapter & the unit itself for RM2038. worth it?

Stock will arrive tomorrow earliest

Not really, can buy the pocket alone. I asked and they said for warranty just bring back to the shop. I've already activated at the shop itself yesterday, found out abt the extended warranty and want to register when i got home.

I ended up with Lexar 128 GB (95mb/s) for RM150 (felt greedy ohmy.gif).
Also bought tripod adapter for RM49.

Played with it yesterday & recorded on a bike, very satisfied with the outcome. It is as per reviewed by dronefirst in YouTube.

Now to go on Shopee to get other accessories

Ya this is the one. Not bad cause you can tilt to match your height when vlog. Also when your osmo put inside the adapter you won't scared it scratch if you apply the vinvly sticker haha

Last time I use the dji live chat. Then you send the serial number to them. They on the spot will check for you. The most amazing part is they can trace what time this device activated

Yes, you can only purchase Osmo Shield from MARCH if your Osmo Pocket is distributed/sold by them.

I bought my Osmo Shield from MARCH for RM150.00.

disappointing answer:

Thank you for contacting DJI Care Customer Support.

I completely understand that you would like to have your Osmo Pocket to be registered under Osmo Shield.

As of the moment, Osmo Shield is not available in your country but this does not mean you're the least priority as DJI is trying to expand it's coverage to reach customers globally. Once there is an update, it should be posted on our official website.

Hope this helps. Should there be further question, please feel free to reply to this email.
You will receive an email survey two days after this email if not responded. If you happen to be away and won’t be able to answer this email timely, please disregard the survey and reply to us directly.

Best Regards,
Michelle

Oh missed that. Yes I read somewhere that the codec they use isn't friendly for those devices, but I don't think I'd be editing 4k on my midrange android anyway

Hi , I’m new here . After reading overview from everyone here, i think I’m gonna to get OP for myself. Just some quick question:

1)do u guys concern too much on getting malaysia set or imported set? I dm altech and theirs one is imported set . If I want to go for Malaysia set , March is the only source that I can go ?

2)which pricing range is the most reasonable now ? I check the price is selling varies from rm1500 to rm1800.

3) how do u guys think bout the angle? I read review saying it’s not wide angle enuf( go pro 7 too fishy eye ). Cz mainly i will be doing interior shooting sometimes, not sure OP really suits me or not.

Hopefully all daikor can answer my question, tqvm :-)

1) of course Malaysia. Mana tau no luck get a lemon unit. Since the price different not much. Your headache is where to get Malaysia set.

2) price not really sure cause didn't survey oledi after I got mine.

3) I don't do vlog so the wide is OK for me. If shoot for serious interior job better use dslr or mirrorless bah. OP the wide cannot pakai for interior. If you use wider lens only can tipu ppl with the photos ma.

My noob thoughts only. Don't take it too serious

Hi guys! I just received my dji pocket today!

so excited! Just wanted to check with you guys, if everyone doesnt mind sharing which accessories did you guys get? Not like the official dji extras like their wireless controllers or anything like that but stuff like you get off lazada/shopee like casing bags, protective covers and the likes

to date i bought just the screen protectors, so far. Planning to get a few more. Wondering if i should get a silicone case instead of a protective "wrap"....hmmm

oh definitely planning to get some nd filters!

*
congrats! Welcome to the owner's club lol.
I only have the holder (similar to the Feiyu, but bought in January, RM30 on Shoppee), 1 ND4 and 1 ND16 filter. That's all. I might get a case for it and the accessories later.

Just sharing. You can get the original DJI expansion kit at USD115 (RM467) with free shipping from authorized DJI reseller at aliexpress. The store name is Airop Store and they have cert from DJI.

And if you want to buy Osmo Pocket at RM1550 with official Malaysia warranty you can preorder online at harvey norman. I got mine just within 1 week.

And regarding March, last time I checked their sets are actually imports sets. The warranty is by supplier, not DJI Malaysia.

Hi fellow sifus. I’m planning to get an OP to be used for holiday and other family outing, etc. read extensively on some of the comments here and realized that it is an awesome product for videography. I’m not so much of a videographer myself but perhaps buying an OP can help me start. My question is how’s the camera performance on the OP? I’m an avid photographer (mainly travel, street) and I shoot using iPhone 7 Plus and a Canon EOS M10. Is the OP better or close to the quality of shots taken? Appreciate any kind feedback from anyone. Thank you!

The Canon M10 is an APS-C camera. The sensor is way larger than the OP = significant improvement in image quality.

Hi fellow OPians, I'm a little overwhelmed with the amount of options to purchase the Osmo Pocket. Would you say it's best to buy it from March, Altech Camera, or Harvey Norman? Any input will be incredibly appreciated.

Just got mine at Altech Camera, Berjaya Times Square. I thought it was a pretty good deal considering the things that was included in their package combo. Got the OP with a carrying case, ND8 & ND16 filters, phone holder, base, screen protector, micro USB adapter for RM1,550. Also got the Expansion Kit (wireless module, controller wheel, accessory mount, 32GB Samsung micro sd) for RM520. So all in all for RM2,070.

I was thinking of getting from March because of the Osmo Shield but through my interactions with March and Altech I feel Altech's service and response was so much better. They were constantly checking up on me via Shopee and giving me advice even when it was 2AM in the morning. I would buy from Altech just because of this since both are official resellers anyway. Plus I've checked with DJI and I'm not sure how the Osmo Shield really works in Malaysia since they specifically said the extended warranty is not available in Malaysia yet. Anyway, some tips I thought I could contribute to the forum for any new/would be OP owners.

I haven't actually played with the OP much yet due to work and all but tomorrow is a holiday! So will try it in more detail tomorrow. I did try some shots here and there and I have some initial questions and was hoping some of the sifus here can help me out:

1. What's the best mode to shoot in? I tried shooting random shots at 1080p 60fps and it's nice quality but the file is extremely huge. 48seconds 400-500MB in size. Need it to be averaged size because some videos I need it to be sent via whatsapp (work)
2. 4K videos can't be saved on to the phone? If can't be save I don't see a point shooting at 4K. What do you guys think?
3. Are there any shooting modes that are better for day time and night time (low light)?
4. I'm looking for a bagpack clip to mount the OP, any other good brands besides Pgytech?
5. I see it on the internet that there's a waterproof casing for the OP but I don't see it being sold anywhere. You guys know of any company out there that sells one? This is for diving, etc.

Any input is greatly appreciated! smile.gif

Thanks guys!

1. Do you need to slow down footages? If not you can reduce to 30 fps to save some sizes.
2. I heard this issue is only for iPhone and low-mid tier android phone. Flagship phones should allow you to save the 4k.
3. Night time better play with pro mode and reduce iso etc.
4. No idea, OP is not a typical action cam, it's for a more guided shooting style so I'd see no use for beg mount.
5. I know ulanzi company is gathering feedback on some of their test build on FB groups, but nothing final yet.

Hey guys, what’s the quality setting for video?
Is there 720p?
Can I actually do long recording while connected to power source?

Hi as i recall you can record in 720p
For long recording i wouldn't recommend because it will get very hot and may compromise the longevity of battery. The battery is non removeable.

Ada 4k, 2.7k and 1080p. Considering all of those are above 720, you can record in higher res and output to 720p using any editing software.

Yes, you can record while connected to power bank or something. But it'll get hot, so make sure dont do it under direct sunlight.

So if it’s somewhere cold then it should be ok for long recording?
Oh, so 720p quality not there
How much time estimated with 1080p for 256gb?
Can you actually set the bitrate for the recording?
I already ordered mine, just waiting to arrive

I think you can only set FPS in normal mode, and iso, ev, shutter speed in pro mode.
I believe bitrate is fixed at 100mb but might need to double check.

i had my osmo action with 128gb sd
assume that it has the recording bitrate of the same as osmo pocket
at 1080p 50fps , can get 1hour 50min with 128gb sd.

Remember if u buy, osmo pocket almost no resale value

Still think mobile phone + gimbal >>> osmo pocket

Careful if buy pocket 3, got screen issues already

Mechanical flip screen + Wear and tear makes it prone to happen

U will use it more then since u r doing youtube n vlogging

Im only using it for traveling. Normally i dont record anything coz i find it distracting to be on my gadget. I prefer to be in the moment. Snap a few pic with my phone for IG.

This osmo is good in the sense that it is not as bulky as dslr/mirrorless. Less hassle

Any 3rd party service centre recommendation for DJI Pocket 2?

I have something under the lens. DJI authorised service centre estimated RM300 for service.
