So far, the old Sunrise (before UEM take over) was the best. Defect respond is usually within 48hrs. They used to have their in house main contractor, so quality control is more consistence. Too bad in Malaysia, when you doing good some big company who know nothing will come to bought over and use your good name and suck it till the last drop.

This I concur... the Tong family are a rare breed of honest and principled businessmen; and they’re very detailed (in every sense).

Is Ecoworld good or bad developer? It build quality house?  It give quality service? It do fast rectification?
If you are buyer, how you rate ecoworld? before and after collect keys?
*
To answer from a buyer’s perspective:

1. Generally good, one of the better ones out there.
2. Depends on which product type; a same precint can have multiple sub-contractors. Semi-D which I purchased, I would rank 8.5 out of 10 in terms of built quality.
3. Service is above average, provided your PIC is good. Else, you can lodge a complaint with their boss and things would change; pretty fast I would say.
4. Rectification is generally fast, IF you follow up constantly.
5. Buyer’s rating: before collect key: 8/10. After: 7.5/10.

Eco World expanded aggressively in Malaysia and also with overseas ventures in London and Australia through its 27 per cent-owned associate entity Eco World International.

But the group's high leveraged expansion strategy has left it saddled with debts of more than RM3.7 billion against a backdrop of declining sales both in Malaysia and its international operations.

Unless there is enormous political pressure, merger bailout is likely to complete. In the event of failure, cross default may occur next year. How it will end up will depend on stakeholders. It is still too early to speculate.

SCM Property Services should take over control of EW’s property management arm... the latter’s quality of work is disappointing to say the least.

i'm not very familiar with EcoWorld & i've only seen an ad about how good their sound insulation is for their product. but as far as i'm aware of being in property sales & management before, no developer in malaysia has ever conducted a sound test & release a sound certification for their products like advanced countries. ended up what we can see is even high end properties in affluent areas like mont kiara & desa parkcity have poor sound insulation. northshore garden @ desa parkcity is a notable example. open/close door/cupboard, talk, argue, baby play ball, make love, neighbour next door or below also can hear, everytime complain to office say can't sleep. best part is they won't say their neighbour was making love, they said domestic abuse wtf. all these developers are playing the fool. platinum victory is also a famous one for poor sound insulation. they say you make love in your room, people outside in the living room can hear.

Seems fairly common for newer buildings to have shitty soundproofing. I own a unit from Aset Keyamas and am facing terrible soundproofing issues from my next door and upstairs neighbors. Now days, these developers will build using cheap materials while buyers suffer.
