recently went to some small restaurant and the restaurant stick grabfood and grabpay, reach counter for payment then waiter said unable to use grabpay because system down doh.gif

This is more like excuses for me, is grab treating the merchant badly or delaying the payment?
*
Next time just scan their QR (if they ever display that) and make pmt straight, then show them already paid they cannot say no

Many discount codes including 20% off lazada (max rm15) when buy pek senang raya at grab app for rm2
*
QUOTE(soonwai @ May 11 2019, 05:40 PM)
Quite worth it. If can use the Lazada code, the rest can be considered freebies already.

Did anyone buy? Can the Lazada code be used for prepaid topup?
*
It's good, previously before this they had I think RM 0.99 pack also, recall I only used the RM 8 off for the Alley.
Their merchants are all quite good unlike Maybank discount, 99% merchant unheard of.
But recent news that they're considering to spin off GrabPay worries me

grabpay need to extend their service to grocery and petrol field.

Tesco, Shell, Petronas all these can bring big usage.

They're expanding too slow......

usually how long is the redeemed voucher valid for?
*
Enjoy the points while it last, sooner or later they will devalue the redemption points again.
The platinum status is too easy to achieve.

Foresee the following, once they grow substantial market share, now merchants still very limited, hence retail users also limited
- platinum status harder to achieve
- less points for spending (ie no more 20x)
- more expensive redemption

Would you or anyone know when the x20 promo expires? Or is this a permanent thing?
*
QUOTE(fruitie @ Jun 18 2019, 05:43 PM)
Nothing is permanent, it is not a promo but a feature. Just use it until it revises (touch wood).
*
Yes it's not permanent, like I mentioned they can change many things, like changing 20x, or raise the bar to retain Platinum or just increase the redemption points

Sorry 2nd time purchase using Grabpay for bonus but still not very sure.
My balance is rm30, so I will top-up with MasterCard rm87, so total now is rm117.
Click on Prestomall within Grab app to bring it to Prestomall app.
Purchase 4x rm29 Petronas evoucher and pay rm116 with grabpay.
Get and redeem rm8 rebate in grab app.
Grabpay balance now is rm9.
Get the rm20 Prestomall discount code in grab app.
Within a month use balance of rm9+rm20 discount code to buy another rm29 Petronas evoucher.
Just want to reconfirm is this how it works?
*
Yes but need to calculate/top up so precisely?

Baskin Robbin should have 20+20%rebate. I have received pek senang raya 20%rebate and another 20% rebate at the alley but not received in domino. I will try at baskin Robbin later because today have 31+20+20% rebate.

https://www.grab.com/my/20rebateraya/
*
I've never received the 20% + 20% as advertised, feel Grab promo sometimes damn confusing.

Spent at Coffee Bean and Chizu, both if not mistaken included in the 20% + 20%

Note: I have Pek Raya and haven't used at CB and Chizu before, hence by right, I should entitle for the 20%+20%

I think sooner or later, Grab will find this unsustainable and may reduce the rewards or make the minimum tier points higher. tongue.gif

I hope they revise and provide better benefit, else if everyone is a Plat, there's no way they can give exclusivity
They used to arrange a monthly event/invite for Platinum, from super attractive Baskin Robbins redemption, slowly to lousy gym class, and now nothing for months already

Yes, that's right, I hope there is revision to make it more exclusive. Before GrabPay came into picture, I was really struggling to maintain the Plat status with just rides. Actually most of my spending still comes from rides and not merchants spending. laugh.gif
Now even my friends who don't take Grab rides are all on Plat status.  blink.gif
*
And I thought they should reward Grab rides more, that's where their business started and where they grew their customer base. Moreover, it's their own business they should be able to award more, but seems that they have more margin from merchant or they want to aggressively capture market share in the e-wallet space first.

They still have problem with limited merchants, else even they increase requirement by 10x, I think people still can achieve

YES, you should. i spent at domino only received pek senang Raya rebate and not 2 x 20%
my bro account pay baskin robbin 1st (no 21-31june 20% rebate) and then he goes domino later and managed to get the 20% rebate for domino
...
he pays first at Baskin but didn't get a rebate but after that domino managed to get.

grab app suck and full of bugs. any email o complain with grab?
*
It's very shameful, such a big company which defeated Uber but so sucks in the rewards implementation/ integration.
They started with all those nonsense need to copy and paste code, sometimes need merchant to key in their code, but eventually decided no need "claim" the reward, just pay as normal to be entitled for the cash back.

Their feedback channel is equally super duper stupid. They will not entertain you through e-mail, they will insist you feedback through their app. But when you go explore their app for feedback, you will know what I mean

I thought Grabpay also part of Grab's business as well?
Grab Food might be having the 3rd parties invloved la....
*
Yeah should be part of their service, hence they should at least give better points also

Grab purchases means spending at merchants? That's 20x to 3x for Plat? Wow. I didn't expect such drastic reduction. shocking.gif
*
Haha we were just talking about this yesterday, doesn't matter to me.
They can reduce to 3x but if redemption etc also reduce accordingly to match that, which give us similar value then it's fine.
If no more value from Grab Points, then just use other e-wallets. Still many options out there

(I'm talking about spending at merchant, but if your frequency is grab ride and food, then really no choice still got to use)

Yeah but where to find it is 20x? The list only mention 2x rewards even though all of us are getting 20x.

Checked again, they have removed the 2x rewards, same goes for Gold.

Btw guys, in app now there's a bug / maybe promo that's quite worth it if you're using GrabFood.

The rewards for GrabFood are:
RM5: 590 points (0.84 cents/pt)
RM8: 920 points (0.87 cents/pt)
RM10: 700 points (1.43 cents/pt)
RM15: 1690 points (0.89 cents/pt)
RM20: 2370 points (0.84 cents/pt)

As you can see, the RM10 voucher is an outlier, and if you spend using GrabPay and redeem this voucher you're effectively getting a 28.5% cashback.
*
Too many free Grab food discount code already, so this one not attractive to me yet.
The coffee bean one more attractive, 200 points for RM 5 off

Can’t find a clear answer, posting this again (specifically for 2 cards Premier)

1) GrabPay Credits vs GrabPay Credit Card
Other than CB for certain credit cards during specific days, any reasons to top up max before 7th?

2) MCC/ Merchant description
So far I’ve only been using GrabPay Credits, and transaction posted as GrabPay Ecom SSL. Just wondering, for credit card, will it be the same, or it is posted as “direct” spending at the specific merchant, ie posted as Coffee Bean etc? I think if posted directly, will definitely still get CC points.

Some articles mentioned that direct CC not affected like Grab and Fave, but just want to confirm this

From my understanding, at least for MBB perspective, directly charge to Grab should not have impact.
Only if you top up to GrabPay e-wallet, you may not have the cash back or reward points.

Grab and GrabPay use different description and MCC by the way.
Not sure about Fave since Fave is merely passing the transaction to the saved credit card like Grab (not GrabPay).
What is the MCC for Fave?
*
Have limited CC statements now, I will check tonight again.
Not sure about the MCC for Fave, but I manage to find one spending on Fave posted as Fave MY. So I guess, Fave will be affected too if it's all posted under Fave spending. Hopefully Grab is safe

Doesn't matter, same phone sure died. Recently someone I know just few days ago got his account banned too and Grab sent him a list of his phone no. laugh.gif

Anyway, with KYC these days I just stick to one account. Sufficient for me. I'm only an ikan bilis. tongue.gif
*
Then I'm considered lucky, have been logging in and out 2 accounts on the same phone, touch wood haven't kena yet. But both accounts are legitimate under different user, just one is more active one less. Guess I better use different phones now
