imho, this xr will definitely serve me more than a year. decent battery capacity, great lcd screen (of course can’t compare with oled 😅) and currently the most powerful A12 chip. good camera too not to mention

I hv made up my mind, I didnt buy it. In fact my 6s plus still works perfectly fine. I will just wait for another year.

I will get Iphone XR too, but not now. Iphone 7 still works fine, change battery maybe will last another 2-3 years lol.

Another way to find out which is the one having issues is to get another wireless charge enabled phone and test it on your stand.

More like the opposite, Apple will increase the price.
When Apple lost major revenue across China, and their manufacturing ‘cheapness’ and move manufacturing elsewhere, prices will increase.

This Trump trade war has some sceptic and analyst predict Apple will increase their prices across all Apple product unless Apple absorbed the cost themselves.

Their iPhone numbers don’t look great, any more hike in prices will result in Cook having to fend off unhappy investors. September is gonna be interesting

One of the reason Apple went into the 1k USD phone range is because iPhones sales are slowing down everywhere, so they went that route for die-hard Apple fans to buy their expensive phones and increase revenue to please the investors.

And knowing Apple, they hardly decrease prices and instead made everything even more expensive (MacBook Air 2018 is an example when it starts at 1199USD, the older MacBook Air with 5th gen processor still sells crazily expensive)

Excited for iOS13 too. I’m hoping for the Dual Audio Bluetooth connection being made to all iPhones that support Bluetooth 5 (iPhone 8 and above) like what Samsung phones offer

main reason for poor sales should be due to the fact that
1) current model of iphones are over-powered. starting from iphone 6/6+. it means the power of the current model is way exceeding the current needs. thus even after 5 years or more, it still feel usable. that's why people are not changing phones as often as before.
2) durability. i think no one will disagree that apple products has strong durability which it makes no excuse for one to change their iphones due to the spoiled or whatever reason.
3) design - no major design breakthrough from iphone 6/6+ until iphone X. no major reasons to change since it still looks similar.
4) iOS support - iOS has supported any older iphones for at least up to 5 years. old phone users can still enjoy a lot of the new features like new phones. again this gives no excuse for people to change phones.

+1 that’s why my wife was still using her iPhone 5 till last year and upgraded to the XS. That’s only because the 5 was giving all sort of problems, the price quoted to fix it was not worth it. The phone was older than my youngest son lol.

Yeah, good points. I wonder if iOS 13 will discontinue support for both iPhone 5S and 6 in order to force those people (including yourself) to upgrade hahaha...

apart from the xr, i’ve also bought 7+ for my wife. i’ll be more than happy if it lasts for more than 2 years, in terms of software support.

anyways, i’ve recently installed cpu-x, and noticed RAM usage has been over 80% most of the time thus using the app, cleaned the RAM.

is it really necessary to clean it up just like android phones?

Apple will continue with this strategy, continue to raise price, less buyers but maintaining same profit. i’m glad they moving the production out of China. the price to pay? probably just 10- 20% more.
