my friend suffered a similar problem but not becuz of the change of sim card but becuz when he turn off the phone he removed the battery before there was a total shutdown, meaning the closing animation was about to end when he remove the battery..

after switching sim, he can't turn it on and he brought it to the service center and they told him its a fault in k800i that when u remove the battery before a total shutdown there might be come corruption in the OS and there were already a few incident prior to my friend's...the phone was reflashed and all memory was lost but the phone is now ok again..

sonic_cd has experienced the same problem too. a dead K800i after changing sim card.

from what I can tell after reading comments online, every single time you turn off the K800i, there is a chance of it not turning back on ever again. it is quite a common problem. rclxub.gif

ya among so many k800i users in here, sonic_cd is the unlucky one. tongue.gif

so i would say it is known problem then but still rare. my advise to TS is still the same, don't get it.

no wonder the shut-down delay on se phones is long.
when i shut down and want to re-start it. gotta let it for several seconds
before i can do that sweat.gif

yup. according to what he told me, he mentioned something about the motherboard of the phone is fried. blink.gif and i still remember that he said that it's way beyond "economical" repair. so he didn't bother. tongue.gif

really?, i am a nokia user but nokia functions doesnt work that properly
compared to se's. im having numerous problem starting the mp3 app
and connecting it to my blueband headphone. before this when using
se no such problem occured, and its straight forward. its not s60 im mentioning
its s40. se is much more stable, only small firmware bug is messing with it.

ya that is as much as i know too.

but he is the only one i know having such problem despite numerous other k800i users here, at least that shows that deadly problem is quite rare.

no. firmware corrupted = white screen of death, you phone will display only white screen until the battery run flat. but that problem can be easily solved by reflashing the firmware.

no response = either battery no juice or dead phone = some internal problem.

okok llike this ..

mine got fried(damn i miss it )

so i take to the se service centre
they said might be software corrupted, and try to flash,if sucessfull (rm100something)

in the end cannot flash.jobsheet said beyong economical repair(check the phone cam thread earlier wans,i posted a pic)

took to those stalls in sungai wang . turns out is ic problem .
rm300 to replace the faulty ic or rm600 to replace the phone mobo and there is risk of it happening again.

sold the phone for scrap ..well, i would buy another wan, but original lah .
