my friend suffered a similar problem but not becuz of the change of sim card but becuz when he turn off the phone he removed the battery before there was a total shutdown, meaning the closing animation was about to end when he remove the battery..

after switching sim, he can't turn it on and he brought it to the service center and they told him its a fault in k800i that when u remove the battery before a total shutdown there might be come corruption in the OS and there were already a few incident prior to my friend's...the phone was reflashed and all memory was lost but the phone is now ok again..
*
hm....... how to reflash?

how muct cost it?

IIANM, older batches of the K800i are susceptible to this problem. Is yours an older unit? (2006 unit?)

Im not sure.

Ok, i need anyone help.
who knows which shop having expert capability in repaired HP especially k800?

Im aleready send it to many shop in KL yesterday but noone can fix it, some of them said no spare part n some said cant repaired after i wait for 1 hour. hugh.......
Then, most of them said tis a IC or board problem.

This problem affects the earlier batch of K800i users, my friend kena before but luckily he bought a Midland set so the service centre 'kau tim' it for him within 3 days. If yours an AP set, just bring it back to the importer lor. Try avoid going to the mobile clinic shops outside, sometimes they dunno what they're doing, you'll risk damaging your phone for good.
*
Send to dealer oredi but he dont want accept it under warranty n they said tis phone spoilt bcos drop to water n ground but actually not like tat.

Really dissapointed wif tat dealer services.

Then, i try send to 2 mobile shop in KL yesterday but dont get good result as well.
They said its a IC or board problem n they check it for around 1 hour, 1st shop said cant repair bcos dont hv spare part n 2nd shop said cant repair.

do u hv any idea for tis phone?

mentioned in an earlier post what ? well from what i was told , its 300 for the flash ic or 600 for a new motherboard ..the risk is, it may happen again ... no point repairing imo .. might as well try to sell the phone for parts and get another wan (like what i did )
*
ok2. how to sell for parts?
now, i dont know wat wrong wif this phone n i dont know how to open part of tis phone.
