Yes, looks a bit dry and burnt. Btw the best unagi I had was in Fukuoka. Different style a bit. They steam the fish then grill. More juicy and less salty. Very expensive though. Remember paying yen 4000 for one set. 😂

Planning to go osaka next year for 10days. Was thinking whether to rent a car to drive around osaka and kyoto. Is it a good choice? Previously rely on train when i visited tokyo and found certain area is unable to reach. How is your overall spending on petrol, toll?. Can advise?

Osaka and Kyoto not recommended to rent car.
High traffic and expensive car parking and space .
Should take taxi or train more convenience than driving.

Takai.

I used to eat cereal every morning and top up with some strawberries in my years working in shikoku.

This is hitsumabushi, you’re supposed to eat the eel on the rice and pour tea in top like ochazuke that’s why it’s a bit more salty.

Sorry, I have no idea. It's actually a specialty of the Nagoya region and is actually a fantastic way to eat to taste the eel as you do it three ways..

I've eaten at many Unagi restaurants in Tokyo, some going back to 1880s and the best ones always serve up the eel's backbones deep friend and have their hearts in the soup as options.
