, and having won quite a number of contests purely because of carefully reading the TnC and not getting disqualified. If you wanna be technical, they clearly broke 2 rules according to the TnC laid out below (expand the spoiler).
1. The mechanics of the game was very clear,
spent at least RM100 to stand a chance to be activated in the game(1a), otherwise if u didnt spend RM100,
receive the gift box from people in (1a). - no where it was ever mentioned you can
scan a QR code anywhere to be activated, it defeats the purpose of spending RM100 in the first place.
The idea was to make the one spent RM100 to be activated first and send the gifts to those that didnt spend. If your grandpa, granddad and the whole world can easily scan a bar code from social media/store to play the game, then who will those in category (1a) send the gifts to?
What actually happened: The IT team screw up big time. The QR code was supposed to be unique for the people that received it 1(a), it was not supposed to show the "SCAN QR" function for people in 1(b). they could not make it work and hence the delay in starting the game late on 21 Dec.2. Game starting from 20 Dec onwards - well clearly due to the incompetence of the IT team and Marketing team for the reasons above, the game was delayed and they are forced to deploy the game anyway on 21 Dec to manage the noise that is getting louder from customers, Eventhough the game clearly did not abide by the TnC.
The best part was no announcement or acknowledgement of anything by the Marketing team on 20 Dec to inform the users on the delay while knowing the whole world is waiting to play the game.
So yes, the whole campaign is a big scam. Poorly executed. Didn't test properly beforehand.
PS: for those that like to comment/act on your impulsiveness, i suggest you to read 100 times here before you jump the gun on any members here. I am not sure if a few of you are too lazy to read what others are trying to say or you really cant read at all

because you easily accused other members while the problem is really your comprehension.

Campaign Mechanics
19.291 Customers may participate in the Campaign by fulfilling either of these criteria:
1(a)Spending a cumulative toal of at least RM100 between 10 December 2018 and 19 December 2018 across any spending use case, except for deposits and P2P transfers; or
1(b)Receiving a gift box from a Customer that has been activated through criteria 1(a) and redeeming the gift box within 10 minutes from receipt.
19.292 Customers that have fulfilled criteria 1(a) will stand a chance to be eligible for the Gift Giving Game (“Game”) and will be able to play the Game from the 20 December 2018 onwards.
19.293 For the purposes of the Game, there are two categories of Customers, which are:
Activated Customers: Customers who have fulfilled either of the two criteria as defined in paragraph 1; and
Non-activated Customers: Customers who have not fulfilled either of the two criteria as defined in paragraph 1.
