What was the reason? I've been paying with Boost at Tesco for quite a while now & the cashier / self-service staff have been very cooperative when it comes to eWallets.
*
the cashier just say got problem then i just go with card payment

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Jul 6 2019, 01:32 PM)
Tesco is like hit or miss for e wallet payments since the day they started accepting e wallets...

It's probably because they're using that problematic terminal pod, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, if the latter happens then the cashier would have to restart the whole card terminal and wait for it to boot up again...

Some branches have this issue, some don't...

Also depends on which cashier you meet, some would insist on letting you to pay with e wallet even though they need to reboot the terminal again...

Weirdly, it's the same terminal pod that Isetan and TGV (counter where you scan your QR ticket) use but I don't see them having issues with it, it's only Tesco though.
*
dont know just the staff does bother to check and direct say having problem

QUOTE(mamamia @ Jul 6 2019, 02:16 PM)
Yesterday I try to pay at Tesco too. The cashier said boost is down, but I can pay with any other e wallet. Ended up I pay with TNG e wallet.
*
hmm.gif i do have TNG e-wallet butdont have the amount and lazy to perform topup on the spot

I always do haha, got used to it...

E wallets in our country still far from being matured yet, so some hiccups are expected, but definitely better than how they were when they first launched couple of years ago...

I always have Bigpay as backup if e wallets aren't working, so no worries on my side.
*
yup same for me with card as backup for e-wallet and cash as backup for card laugh.gif

most of us here already given you a lot of hint and knowledge. i hope you could just take the initiative to just try it yourself rather just keep asking without any actual trying by yourself.

QUOTE(lowya @ Jul 10 2019, 11:06 AM)
i use lazada wallet, only because i purchase regularly and they already have my details and also they give 5% rebate for any amount of top up, why not?

i use maybank online to pay all TNB bills, i say the convenience is already good enough that i would not find alternative to make it faster by an extra 3 seconds.

now, Boosters, your turn.
*
every e-wallet available does offer different of benefit to user. what i would say is you can choose not just only stick to single e-wallet to max out those benefit

QUOTE(avinlim @ Jul 10 2019, 12:04 PM)
Why bother to answer? Its up to him, we are not representing boost. Why need to Po his LanPa to convince him from using boost that gain him all the benefits that we are getting?  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif  laugh.gif
*
yup.... answering his question is good but really it's better to try it out then only ask for those deep question rather than those shallow question

QUOTE(lowya @ Jul 10 2019, 12:08 PM)
for 1 and 2, they are doing exactly what online banking does minus BNM standard.

for 3, cashback <2% is not attractive as lazada 5%. looks like the only one thing to go for is the once in a while promo that you mentioned following
but isn't it too good to be true? 100% cb means they pay you bill total amount for free?

how could that be possible or even viable as business point of view?
*
do you know what is the value of data nowadays? do you know what is the strategy they were go for by establish an huge base of user and merchant acceptance? market share and data ensure higher chance of survival in the future for business

4. curiously lead him to discover a promising 30% rebate led by greed.

5. giving up after reading tonnes of terms and conditions that stopped #4 from happening.

there you have it.

do you know? for us those who used to enjoy CC cashback that 1% might not be anything as compared to CC > 1% of cashback.
but for those who does not have such access to have an CC, that 1% still does bring some meaning

that someone does not understand risk (12% CC interest rate) versus reward (1% cb)
*
CC interest rate that part has always been there. the risk were underlies with the person spending and repayment behavior. please get my point for such comparison.
somemore...... that 1% for those without CC it just nothing (other than spending behavior and spending location being recorded) but the reward (ignoring the exposure of the data)

An update on paying with Boost in Guardian just now...

I'll make this quick and simple for those who are interested...

> Me wanna buy Cap Kapak minyak angin
> Proceeds to counter
> Me: "Nak pakai Boost ya"
> Cashier : "Boost? Ok"
> Cashier scanned one time, cannot
> Cashier scanned second time, cannot
> Wallet deducted
> System not responding, showing error
> Cashier calls colleague
> Colleague also clueless, asked for transaction ID, "u cuba tekan transaction"
> I clueless, "mana boleh? Ni memang selalu cam ni punya"
> Another staff comes, also clueless
> After a while of blur face, staff: "eh bukan tekan ni je ke?"
> Receipt printed out

Only 1 counter opened, whole process took 5 minutes, queue getting longer, cashier then opens another counter, then everything settled, I'm the king.

The End. smile.gif

It's fine, it happens when a merchant just accepted e wallet at a recent time.
*
between.... actually some branch for some of those merchant were just new to it even though they start accepting e-wallet long time ago as certain places would have very low rate of e-wallet payment. but some would try their best to proceed with the payment while some would just giving excuses

How are they gonna solve the charges that will be imposed on the smaller merchants by the bank for accepting card payments?

It's easy for these smaller merchants to accept e wallets since the MDR will be either none or just like a little, but as for cards, it's gonna be more than that right?

But it's a good initiative, I enjoyed the experience when I was in R&R at Ayer Keroh.
*
probably there is initiative provided by PLUS for cashless brows.gif

*
2 weeks was an long period of time..... usually the fund would be in your account after 2-3 working days.
i think you could just go to BNM website to search for their contact will do.

So yeah it can be done.

just IC number and instant upgrade

QUOTE(mamamia @ Aug 2 2019, 10:55 PM)
If I remember correctly, to upgrade to premium wallet, u need to key in NRIC no. and name as per IC, but I wonder whether they check whether it is valid IC no since u don’t need to upload IC copy..

Also, the transfer limit is capped at RM500 per month if u didn’t verified with IC copy + selfie
*
ya. i do help my sister upgrade her account last month without the need to have photo of IC

Would be good if the GPS isn't always turned on when using the app. Serve no purpose since it doesn't do navigation.
