Reasons of dislikes?

It is a good thing Blizzard develops games for mobile devices.

Except that the mobile game is not developed by Blizzard. It's outsourced to NetEase Games from China. And some claim that D:I is just a reskin of their old game.

You should've seen the moment when they announced the game during the BlizzCon opening ceremony, nobody cheered at all. And the Q&A session is worse.

Blizzard also deleted dislikes and comments on their YouTube video .

Tell me, how this does not enraged the fans?
In Q&A, a fan asked will this Diablo released on PC. the blizzard reps sarcastically replied "don't you all have phones?"

Oh... now I understand why people dislike Diablo mobile game.

Crazy Blizzard for making such stupid decision.

RIP Diablo.

Needless to say, everyone else have spoken about the poor reception of this game during its announcement..

My only gripe with this is that, even if they want to sell part of the IP's licensing and outsource it to an outside developer, at the very least wrap-up the announcement at Blizzcon with a tiny teaser of things we can expect in the next 12 months: more Diablo III content (character DLC, if they are working on it), Diablo IV, Diablo anything that isn't a half-arsed money grabbing syndication of a sleaze fest called 'mobile gaming', then that would at the very least reduce the uproar of rage by most of us.

Look at Bethesda this year at E3. They announced Elder's Scrolls: Blades (also a mobile hack *cough* tap and slash) but wrap up that IP with a tease of Elder's Scrolls VI. Now that, at the very least is forgiving for both the developers/publishers' end as well as fans that prevented any form of ruse.

Don't even get me started on the lore. D:I is supposedly taking place between DII and DIII, and retconning a lot of the lore that was suppose to have already been stated in DIII (e.g. a period of peace, suddenly we're all fighting hordes of hell pulak, bongok siol).

Blizzard is steadily going downhill for their insufferably stupid decisions.

People hate mobile gaming for good reasons, and they joyfully enter into mobile gaming without really survey or care about people expectation, getting roasted is expected.

Mobile gaming is hated for many reasons: limited energy bar, limited controls where you can only depend on mainly two fingers to control, eat up lots of battery.... worst when comes to micro transaction which is pretty famous of how app store make money, and also what many gamers really hate that could flush good game down the drain. People do not require spending time and effort to train to become powerful, there are always people spending money to get good loots, equipment and all sort of treasures that can only obtained by cash, instead of in-game money. People can always get stronger than you without any effort, especially new players that far more powerful than you, render all those time you spent into make your character powerful useless.

However, this seems to be the direction that will be adopted by game companies. They don't want an one-off purchase which only earn once, they want long term earning and keep generating revenue to make money and we can't tell them: no. After all, this is business strategy. Maplestory is one good example, the server is so messed up that most players are cash-people, keep spending cash to get all sort of benefits, can hardly find genuine players there nowadays. Despite that, the game is still alive and people are playing it. That provide a good reference for game companies to adopt such strategy for long term earning.

As an ordinary player, this is a sign that the game is already doomed without needing to play it.

Anyhow.... I duno exactly whats the direction of gaming industry, if they are marching into mobile gaming or not. Let's hope diablo 4 will return back into the correct path

Aside from the Pay2Win concept, having games like Diablo ported to mobile is ridiculous.

In a game where it's action packed and requires a large environmental vision to successfully execute attacks or dodge, having half the screen covered by your fingers and the HUD kind of diminish the purpose of porting an ARPG to mobile. The only solution to that is to dumb down the mechanics, which of course no longer serve the purpose of it being an ARPG at all.

For sure there's micro transactions.
https://tw.sports.yahoo.com/news/%E8%AA%B2%...-071430916.html

If you don't know about NetEase, they are the pc online / mobile games developer from China been working on some re-skin, Diablo type ARPG mobile games before. And the game always free but with micro transactions that you need to pay to win.

Also don't forget how D3 vanilla RMAH ruins the game experience, famous error 37, also the high ping lagging issue. This title is a simplify version from D3 so that all those evil ideas never work in D3 can be resurrected.

----------------------------------------------------------------

I don't think they really care about Diablo branding, as it is something come from Blizzard north (Blizzard north only produce Diablo 1&2), not their core title anyways.
