Nice, so what made you decide on this tyre instead of others offered in this price range?

Previously using XM2 (pass 100k already), it start to vibrate and very noisy. Trying other brand see if ok or not. My first choice previously is P1 but very hard to find.

It's seriously quietly launched. I really like my current GY ATM 1. 50k km milage now. Threads still got, I think can last 100k km. Just the noise start to come out due to hardening. Raining quite bad these days the tires still can hold, just not as good as new. I really appreciate if you can leave a review on the wet performance

Old tyre toyo NE3. Poor dry handling and worst wet handling.. even when new. Will never buy again.

Bough ATM2 RM179 per pcs for 185/55/16. Good dry handling in normal karak highway (no spirited driving) Good wet handling and excellence wet braking during heavy rain. Consider its price, this is even cheaper than CC6 which to me is very nice value. The same shop sell cc6 rm205.

Noise i cant notice any different.. silent enough for me.

And with Worry Free Assurance registered, at least i can drive with a peace of mind in this raining season

As I know, Goodyear tyres tend to have harder sidewall, means feel harsher when the road is not evenly flat. I know harder sidewall means better handling feel, e.g Goodyear Excellence 185/55/R16. But does your ATM2 has this kind of harshness? Or does it feel more comfortable ?

Grip and Noise i would say very good when driving at 140kmh. Of course dont compare the grip with UHP tyres. Grip during high speed cornering also good no issues and stable.

One thing impress me the dry performance. Previous tyre i could not drive for too long with 140kmh speed.. feel shaking, very floaty and slippery. But using ATM2, it felt very stable even going 150kmh.

Same like me.. were using XM2 for the past 1year n 9months, had clocked in 84k km. Eventhou still have thread in it (rotation every 10k km) but decided to change.

P1 was also on my mind but like u said, it’s too hard to find, and not much review.

Then, UC6 also on my list. But the mechanic don’t recommend it. Instead, he asked me to take atm2. Since I don’t want to go back XM2, so decided to give it a try.

One thing notable, it is not as floaty as XM2 when during high speed cruising (>140kph). Noise level more or less the same with XM2 when new.

Never try in wet condition yet coz just fittted 2 days ago. Haha.

What was your original stock tyre came from ? Goodyear Excellence or Continental Premium Contact 2 ?
How does the ATM2 compared to your original stock tyre in terms of ride hardness and float feel ?

Original was GY Excellence (but it excellent at all😅). Can’t rmb if compare to GY Excellence coz I was on XM2 before I change to this ATM2. But GY excellence is quite a noisy tyre. I would say ATM2 is not as float as XM2 la. Quite stable when during high speed cruising.

thanks for your response.

hahaha. GY Excellence is very noisy after few thousands KM.
I found the ride is quite rough and choppy at highway speed or faster as it has hard sidewall compared to CPC2 or D05. I'm not sure about ATM2 but XM2 is quite soft sidewall as well.

Hi Guys. Yesterday I've changed to this tyre, Goodyear ATM 2. My previous tyre is Viking PT5 (2014)
* I've test speeding around 120kmh & i found out that this tyre is very stable, comfort & quiet. Wet performance not test because whenever in wet condition, i will slow down my car. Safety first, haha.
* My previous Viking PT5 is noisy even it's new but stable & in wet condition, the performance not so great.
* Plus, i found that the quietness of this tyre is i don't feel like i drove my car at 120kmh.
* All in all, it's new tyre. Hope it will do the job for a long term

*** Want to ask one question. My previous tyre & new tyre is same size, 195/55/15, 100% confirm.
* Is same size of tyre have slight different diameter or thick for different brand? Because i found that after change my tyre touch fender a bit when cornering, just sometimes. Hope u guys can answer this. Thanks

* FYI, my car just an old car, Proton Wira SE.

Just change 4xpc of 215/45R17 (Civic FB)
Civic's doesn't have a quiet cabin, hence quiet tyres always a top priority for me.
Previously from Stock PS3 > Primacy 3ST > Triplemax 2
can only compare on this 3, here's my thought

PS3(40K - 45K KM) is the best if you like to drive fast, very good cornering, high speed stability and stopping power for wet and dry, and also with hard sidewall.

Primacy 3ST(50K KM) it's more silent than PS3, but has a soft sidewall, braking and cornering is just above average, low rolling resistant.

Triplemax 2(new) surprisingly it's quieter than Primacy 3ST, even above 100KMH it's still don't have noticable tyre noise, quite stable during high speed, not as good as PS3 but very close. During fast Cornering I can hear the tyre squeaking, and it holds that quite well. Price also much cheaper compare to michellin.

Conclusion, If let me choose again within the 3 tyres, I'll go for Triplemax 2 > PS3 > Primacy 3ST

Conclusion, If let me choose again within the 3 tyres, I'll go for Triplemax 2 > PS3 > Primacy 3ST

it's a very useful feedback. I plan to change tyre soon and keep survey tyres, in this case, i will be choosing this ATM2 rather than XM2+ or UC6 or ES32 for 185/55R16.
I drive about 120 to 150kmh at highway and my current GY Excellence is quite unstable at high speed 140+kmh, looking for high speed stable, good wet grip stopping and low noise tyre.

Some users here mentioned its not as float as XM2 for >140kmh and another one said it’s stable as well.
If you able to try 150kmh and above, please share with us the stability and noise level.

Hi sifus,

I’m planning to change to ATM2 from CC5 on Almera. It comes with 185/65/r15. Can I change it to 195/55/r15? What are the pros n con? Thanks!

Congratulations! i did the same on my Almera too. but i went with 195/60/r15. the diameter almost same with the stock profile

the grip will be better and you feel safe when driving on wet roads. since you going with a smaller diameter... Just be careful, your car will be lower. so drive slower over bumps. Possibly the lower profile tires/harder wall will only slightly affect your comfort, but improve on handling. Your suspension will work slightly harder. No big deal really. the speed on the odometer i think will be off GPS will show slower than the meter in the car.

most obvious is your CAR will look BIG and your Tires will look SMALL. tongue.gif

Just got myself 2 pcs of ATM2 today evening for persona 2012, guess what, am love it compare to the previous Rovelo. I can feel the grip on dry road, smooth cornering and silent too.
RM140 a piece which includes all the bal and align job. Looking forward to change the rear tyres soon.

Bought mine middle of June. 195/50/16. Have been driving for about 2,000KM edi and the tyres are great! Damn quiet, but the sidewalls a bit lembik. Spirited cornering feels floaty. Grip on dry and wet damn good for the price, in my opinion. biggrin.gif

Purchased from Hup Shun Tyres SS3. RM230 per donut.

Certainly useful. I have shared my experience before on the Goodyear Assurance Fuelmax which is the predecessor of the Triplemax several years ago on this forum. They used to be the stock tyres on my Ford Focus. After the tyres were worn out, I changed to Yokohama Bluearth AE50. In terms of quietness they are quite similar but in terms of performance in handling and cornering both dry and wet, the Goodyear Assurance is better. Sharper and more precise steering feel with the Goodyear and more stable during cornering. With the Yokohama, steering feels slightly less sharp and responsive, and during cornering the car is more wobbly likely due to the softer side walls.

The TripleMax 2 should be an improvement over the Triplemax 1 and the older Fuelmax so i would expect the tyres to be even better in performance. I want to get back to the old performance of the Fuelmax after trying the Yokohama. The Goodyear is overall a better tyre to me.

Good to hear the Triplemax 2 is not outclassed even when compared to PS3 and 3ST. It must be a winner then.

Just got a quotation from a tyre shop.

RM310 for 205 60R16.

Apparently not many shops carry Goodyear and this odd size so I had to go to the Goodyear Malaysia website to find out the outlets that carry Goodyear. Called a Goodyear tyre shop and they didn't have the size that I wanted so they had to pre-order.

According to the shop, 320 is the max.
So he recommend us to pump the pressure according to ur car recomendation.
Mine is 240-220 for front and rear 220-200
Most of the time i keep 220 front 200 rear.

By the way I just change my wife car for the ATM2. 185/60/15. RM175. So far so good (Lady driver, as long as no issue and durable then I think is good tyre)

bought Excellence back in 2005. Its noisy and hard, .

recently tried Assurance Triplemax 2 and its quieter and feels less jumpy...

even same size, ATM2 has wider rubber compared to Excellence, should have larger contact patch in wet too...

Need some time to properly test this tyre.

But I had a short drive at highway just now, noise level is quite high at speed above 80km/h. A little disappointed to be honest.

But I should give it some time to break in.

Just changed my 58k km 185/60/R15 Continental CC5 to this tyre.

Bought at Lazada for about RM173 each include valve and topup RM24 alignment.

Tested in rainy day, not sure if it is due to new tyre, it is less floaty, and stop easier now.

So expensive!? Few months back mudah was selling RM130/pc for 195/55/R15 size.
I went and wanted to change, but last set goes to the customer in front of queue, damn sad.

Mine is 185, which is more expensive than 195. Installed at Cheras, since do not want to go all the way to Klang area, which is selling RM160 (include valve)

Additional info update, tyre is engineered by goodyear in Europe but made in Indonesia.

Got 3 X 4519 and 1 X 4319 tyres, which is this year Oct / Nov tyres.

Thread wear 320, traction A, temperature A

Might as well upsize to 195/55/R15 as wider and more cheaper. This upsize is always recommended because 185/60/R15 is so rare...
Meanwhile I bought 185/60/R15 Michelin XM2+ I think 180 or 190/pc last month for my Polo Sedan..

Yeah, was also considering that size but using this factory size, sometimes Vios bottom touched some high speed bumps so do not want to go lower.

Any reason why you chose that size for your polo and why xm2+ and not triplemax?

Almost 9 month using ATM2 (90k+ km), overall quite ok compared to XM2, not so noisy and still good in braking.

Thinking changing to the new XM2+ next month, trying new model 🤭

90k is a bit extreme already. I m going to replace my rear tyre which current clocked at 52k km... Put in front for 30k km, rear on 22k km. Think still can last for at least 10k km.. But I'm speeding all the time, so need to make sure tyres in good condition for whateva weather.

After 1 year feel very satisfied with ATM2 for my daily drive. Very confident during raining. Definitely will choose this again for my next replacement

Totally difference class. V12 is more towards performance. V12 is very noisy after losing the thread a bit. But more grip of course

ATM2 is for daily comfort. Tyre noise and wet performance is good compared to others eco tyres i have tried such as CPC and NE3

Changed from Goodyear Exellence to Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2, 185/55/16.
Drove about 1 week, felt that ATM2 has softer sidewall and quieter ride especially going thru the potholes compared to Excellence when it was new.
The ride is so much better with lesser vibration.
But the steering feel is lesser responsive compare to Excellence but acceptable for me.
The ride is slightly quieter than excellence when its new.
I still haven't try it during raining time or whack the tyre at the corner yet, so I can't comment much as of now.

If compare between new ATM2 and new XM2 (without +), the noise level on certain tarmac is quieter but on certain tarmac is slightly noiser. So its more or less the same.

Didn't feel regret to buy this ATM2 over XM2+.

It’s RM190 per piece for 4 pieces including balancing and alignment. Changed at Silicon Pandan Indah. They gave me nitrogen filled and told me it’s lifetime that I can refill anytime at their shop without any charges, but I’m not interested on the nitrogen refill.

1 thing be careful is that the Saleman at this workshop told me that my brake pad is too thin and need to change it but I insist don’t want to change. After that, I brought my car to another trustable mechanic and he told both side brake pads still quite thick, he told this type of brake system, the brake pad is design to be thinner than old days brake pad design. So I didn’t change the brake pad.

Im using D05 on my another car, 1 thing is that, D05 is wear off quite fast. I can’t compare the grip as both cars are different & I drive slower on the D05 compared to ATM2.

Thanks for your feedback

Currently using Toyo NE3, already make >50k km in 3 year. Still got thread but the surface already has a lot tiny cracks. So almost time to change shoes

Wish to try more performance tyre this round. ATM2 looks to me more towards comfort type.

Huh, that's odd. I had used Goodyear F1s with tread wear rating 300 and they lasted around 50k km on a 1.6 ton d-segment car and I don't drive slow either. Do you drive super aggressively? Do you rotate your tires? Or maybe something wrong with your alignment.

Been using ATM2 for a year now..my reviews on this tyres are

Pros
1) decent handling on both wet and dry
2) affordable
3) silent <60km/h

Cons
1) real noisy (woo woo sound) >60km/h
2) it gives a really loud sound on certain tarmac especially old ones
3) sidewall abit soft therefore it doesn’t give me much confidence for sharp cornering

Personally it’s geared more towards performance than comfort/silence imho

It needs some time to break in.

Mine is the same, after break in the tyre is very quite even at 120km/h.

Both are in similar category for expect very similar performance. But Michelin has the big advantage of long tread life. Good if you require long tread life. But Michelin will alwayd and definitely start cracking and chipping after the 4 year mark.

Even the ATM 1 is noisy and not lasting. My wife car it just clocked around 30k+ km and need replacement. Wet grip is decent.

What is the size of tyre that you installed for your Assurance Triplemax 2? I got mine installed last year and so far it's not exactly noisy. I didn't install all 4 tyres though. Only the front tyres are Assurance Triplemax 2 while the rear tyres are Yokohama Bluearth AE50.

Previously I was on Yokohama AE50 for all 4 tyres but the handling was moderately good. The Assurance Triplemax 2 replacing the AE50 for the fronts offer better stability, handling and wet performance.

If you want quiet, perhaps try Michelin Primacy 4 and see if it is quieter than the Triplemax 2? I guess it should as the Primacy 4 is one of the quietest tyres around. However, handling may not be as good but if you don't drive aggressively then it would be fine. Personally I'm looking at quiet and comfort tyres as well after this and looking at the Primacy 4 or perhaps one of the quiet Yokohama series of tyres.

Bought new Proton Saga in 2017 stock with atm2. I driven to 60k before changing it. The cabin feels quiet and the grip is super good in both dry and wet. Not to mention braking is great as well. I have a mixed driving style and really love pushing my car when cornering, imagine I did this all the time even during 60k mileage. I was told by my brother to change because its botak already. The tyre is that good I didn’t bother to change. I would love to switch back to this now using cheapo ones because I was jobless back then when I changed me tyres.

I was quoted RM700/4 pieces. Planning to change my comfy but unimpressive CC5s.
Seeing now that it has buyer's 6 months warranty, I think it's a good deal.

sadly they dont have 185/60R15 which is the size i'm looking for.

found another lazada seller rm169. their official website stores quoting 180 and above sweat.gif

was considering between ATM2 and xm+ rolleyes.gif but the 6 months warranty in case of puncture etc is a very good selling point imho

Just changed to ATM2 on beg of Dec (185/55/16) for around 200/pcs + labor rm90 for alignment and etc. So far so good on the wet and dry breaking. But i did notice when i speed around 100kmh+ in highway the wind or road noise is quite loud. I mentioned in other post, member said its because tyre now is quiet so i can hear noise from the road, so i'm not sure about that. Otherwise, its recommended to try.

Triplemax Assurance 2 came with my Persona. It was noise in the cabin. I decided to change the front 2 to XM2 and the noise was lesser in the cabin. Today. one of the rear tyres had gone flat. Goodyear tyres do not last long. After 2 years, I have to change the tyres in my Toyota Sienta to XM2. The road handling is good though.

My experience using this tyre (1.5 years ~ 30k km)

Grip : Decent for daily drive n heavy rain.
Noise : its really quiet when new. Once worn down to 60% or so, started to become noisy

I would says its suitable for a daily drive car and not so aggresive driving.

It's been 6 months since I've changed mine.

For the most part, dry and wet grip has improved lots.
In the sound department, consider ok. I'm not as anal since I always drive with music blaring into my ears.

Sidewall is rather bulbous and soft. But it is not as soft as Conti CC6s. If quietness & plush ride is your main concern, CC6 won. But for wet and dry, my money goes to ATM2.

A nitpick for me is the sidewall design and bulbous look. Other than that no concerns. My previous tyre will activate TCS whenever I sped off a junction. Worst still, wet braking on CC5s.

My DOT:2319 tire finally replaced. Almost reach the minimum mark. Only managed 42k KM. Maybe it was at the front all the time. Bought on June 2019, replaced on Sept 2021. Honestly it was very noisy after 10k km. The rears are still GY ATM2, still plenty of threds.

The front i have replaced with Pirelli cinturato p6. Not bad. Grip quite well in wet and silent for now. Still new. Bought at Lazada. 2019 tires, so they are very cheap RM168 for 185/65/r15

I usually drive spirited. No reason to drive slow when the car can move. I dont cucuk or brake hard though, cause my car have soft brakes. Honestly with the same driving style, My GY ATM1 lasted 60k KM and that also the threads was more. i miss the GY ATM1

My Myvi been using ATM1 for like almost 3 years, plan to switch to a new set. So far seems like most discussed are XM2+ and ATM2, anyone here knows any other alternative choices like Bridgestone models? Any recommendations?

I'm more towards spirited drive, not looking for noisy UHP tyres, prefer like semi-performance and semi-comfort. Plan to change tyres every 3 years, decent mileage drive.

i have moved on to other brands. Unfortunately, no1 issue is its noisier than ATM1. after 10,000km you should start hearing the road noise. Dont know for what reason my 2019 tires lasted 3 years only, i didnt rotate the tires. at the front only, it lasted 35k KM. 1-2mm more it will touch the minimum mark, rain not that safe anymore. Overall it is one of the more affordable branded tires that have good wet grip. I rather use back ATM1 if you still can find it.

ATM2 still have good grip in dry and wet, cheaper than conti & mich. Overall good tires just noisy after a while.

I have moved on to try Pirelli Cinturato P6. (on sale in LAZADA at the time i bought it) Supposed to be touring tires (allegedly more comfort and highway/mileage use) So far 3000km it is quiet. I also drop back to 185/65/r15 size (old one was 195/60/r15) so rolling resistance lower, looks like saving fuel as well, i dont tekan the pedal so much now (less surface area, less resistance, car move easier). easier to cruise, less sticky to the road. In Rain it performed well. If you cant get this, Mich XM2+ i think is great too. Both similar in performance; great in wet, quiet, for high mileage.

Would like to share my experience after 30k+ KM on this tyre [215/45/17]. For new tyre review, can check back my earlier post in this topic.
After using it for 2years +, the tread has almost finish, i'm occasionally aggressive driving, but most of the time just normal.
Normally i keep my tyre pressure at 32 front 30 rear, tread wear quite even (i did rotate once)

I would say, this tyre is really good at first, but once it reach it mid life, tyre noise increase, and the grip is become very badly.
Aquaplanning is easy, tyre spin when making u-turn and during hard on acceleration.
There's once I driving at plus highway, cruising at 100kmh, moderate rain, the car suddenly aquaplanning, make me lost confident on the tyre. (by that time my tread still about 4-5mm depth.

Overall pro-con as below
pro:
consider cheap compare to those highend tyre
quiet at first
good dry grip at first
balance tread wear
Comfort

con:
Aquaplanning before the change tyre indicator
not grippy during wet
soft sidewall
getting noisy after 20k+ but acceptable

It's a tyres for everyday drive, so far i'll say im happy with this, looking for my next tyre maybe MC6 or Primacy 4

If it's the Goodyear Assurance Triplemax 2, may I know what size is the tyre. That is ridiculously cheap. I bought mine in 2019 for about RM320 if my memory didn't fail me. 205/60R16.
