This was captured on iPad Pro
Yes this is max on WiFi 5GHz with Archer C5400.

The visual below was taken when it was hardwired to TM’s notebook before they left the premise.

I just had TM come over to change my BTU today. Able to achieve the 800 package speed without issues. I have been told that those wanting to change routers could face some delay since apparently stock for routers are very limited and allocation is almost non existent apparently so be a little patient.

BTU/Modem stocks however are not facing any issues.

As per 1st page post, a few BTU model supports the high speed and mine is not in the list, its the 1st gen Unifi BTU model i think, never been changed since installation way back when.. plus you cna check whether yours required changing form Unifi site (i think its under Turbo status).

Then I lodge report via chat again to speed things up, voila, next day TM came to change the BTU and I'm here still waiting for router to arrive.. dry.gif  dry.gif

Router according to TM technician is in short supply and could take a while.

Ok noted, they havent charge me yet, cuz i'm still chatting with Live chat TM. Lodging complain about faulty BTU.

The BTU technically belongs to TM and there is be no charge regardless (which is why the BTU has to be returned when the line is terminated). Its clearly stated when I selected BTU replacement option. Its their responsivity to replace faulty BTU.

Ok noted, report lodge. Now wait for TM tech to come and check. If the BTU faulty by itself then no charges. If the BTU damage by owner than there is a on-site charges as per what the TM live chat fellow told me.

Now no internet  doh.gif  doh.gif  rclxub.gif  need to use mobile data.

Its hard to prove the unit is damaged by you and it helps to be friendly to the technicians when they come over. Its after all up to them to decide. Generally all my encounters with TM techies have been very good.

hi, i've received the service order confirmation email from tm (at 3 am. do they really still at work at this time?) which include the installation appointment time.

from your guys experience, did the installation agent really come at the time as mention or do the agent itself will contact you about the time they will come? how about the old streamyx cable will they pull it out or just let it be inside the house? i lived in landed house.

thanks. smile.gif

Usually the TM technician will call ahead to reconfirm the appointment.

Just get your own with the 12.12 sales now, and better be fast the sale is ending soon.

I don’t need one. Been using AC88U for quite some time now. It was a public service announcement for those that do intend to get a router from TM. Apparently according to the TM tech I spoke to, many do actually prefer to get their router from TM. Perhaps those not tech savvy or prefer a one stop no hassle solution.

It worked for me. My wait time was about a week give and take. Perhaps you should try calling them.

my bill stated turbo 500Mpbs... but i tested not even reach 100Mbps.....

basically if the area already entitled to upgrade 500Mbps, we just need to turn off the BTU and router and turn it ON will do..? no need specific setting or reset on the BTU?

I also already replaced the LAN cable to Cat 6... wan plan to call TM to help but not yet done.

my router just bought last year asus RT N12HP which only max 300Mbps... if the speed can reach close to 300 i'm happy.... need not change new router to cater 500Mbps
*
Check if your BTU supports the speed. A lot of the older BTUs don't.

These 2 routers has been released  by Asus at other countries for some times. So far only GT-AX11000 can be view from Asus MY website. Mind to share the site that has the news on these 2 routers release in MY and the pricing?

Apparently the firmware for the new AX class of routers are not quite stable yet. Singapore was the first country in the world to have the AX88U quite a few months back but have yet to see any surface in the retail outlets.

Initial testing done by some reviews have yet to see significant performance increase and likely will only see full benefits when the AX standard hits mainstream adoption.
