QUOTE(sulimc @ Jan 15 2019, 08:03 PM) Reported to hotline, could not get through on 100. So used Facebook messenger. After almost an hour of chatting, including sending a video of the choppy picture, photos of router, STB, asking me to verify LAN cable not faulty, etc., they logged a case and asked me to agree to pay RM 53 if they come on-site and find it's not their fault. Some more say that if STB or router needs to be replaced, I can either pay them RM 188 for router or RM 300 for STB and keep my contract, or they replace and extend my contract from date of replacement. I was waiting for them to call to arrange visit, but the video skipping appears to have been solved. When talking about TM CS or helpline, some goons like to shove words into people's mouth, wont let customers finish talking 1st, rude and impolite.Cheers! |

QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Jan 17 2019, 03:39 PM) Experts, I need some 'hardware' help. No, it's your setup that is slowing dowmn the speed, no way u can harness full bandwidth via repeater mode. Youre gonna have to wire it using LAN cable to see the difference.I gotten myself a Tenda AC18 from a forumer here (thanks bro) Now the Tenda and BTU is downstairs (store room where all the cables are) The wifi strength are not enough to cover rooms upstair. I have a https://www.mi.com/my/mi-router-3/specs/ Mi Router 3 upstairs which I use as repeater. I don't feel any difference in the speed although being TURBO-ed .. Q: Is my Mi Router 3 that is slowing down the speed? IF it is, any recommendation of a cheap / not too expensive repeater that I can buy? QUOTE(ed0gawa @ Jan 17 2019, 03:52 PM) Hmm.... if my setup is as below (which I have been using all this while la) What a privilege to have built in LAN cabling embedded inside the walls. Well, if all else fail, u can still transmit network signal via Homeplug to upper stair from your Tenda.Downstairs storeroom = BTU + Tenda 1. Tenda Wifi on (strong enough for downstairs) 2. Tenda LAN WIRE connects to a room upstairs 3. Room upstairs install another router/repeater (connected via LAN cable) to share out wifi signal Something is wrong with the LAN cabling of my house, the developer fuck up I guess, only 1 LAN socket works for my upstairs.. What will be a better way to make my whole house (upstairs for now, since Tenda is strong enough to cover the ground floor) gets WIFI signal? (p/s : Can't afford those high end gear) Have u ever considered aztech fg7008... or mikrotik hap ac2? This post has been edited by imalmighty: Jan 17 2019, 04:04 PM |

Regarding the hypptv thing, this is serious. Highlight the number and names of channels that are stb exclusive, compile into a list, complain why are we still charged for that and not supplied a hypptv box? Or are they coercing us to buy? Especially those ultimate pack customer.

QUOTE(eclectice @ Jan 18 2019, 11:45 AM) TM is forcing Unifi subscribers to view on PlayTV app instead when in fact most people want to watch on TV rather than from an app. The BS is that PlayTV for Android only works on Android phones/tablets but not on the devices that run Android TV like SmartTVs and Android TV-based boxes (like Nvidia Shield). What about those non-Android TVs like LG (WebOS), Samsung (Tizen), etc.? Even, the PlayTV app itself is clunky in UI and performance. they think they are gods, they can shove words and ideologies into people's mouths U think they dont know what people's demands are? most ppl's demands are removing the tv pack completely while deducting RM30 from their bill. They do so (stop supplying dect phone and stb) for cost saving. I wont be surprised one day, the hypptv streaming via vlan600 will be cut off and discontinued. They are adamant about shoving hypptv up customers a55es. This post has been edited by imalmighty: Jan 18 2019, 12:02 PM |

QUOTE(eclectice @ Jan 18 2019, 11:56 AM) Someone may say use Chromecast to play PlayTV by casting it (if it natively supports it) to Google Cast feature in Android TV. Try setting it with Google Home and you will feel ugh. If the app does not support Chromecast, then you will screencast the app which looks ugly on TV from a phone/tablet (more or less with orientation change). Then, your Wifi becomes unstable and the cast drops the packets and the experience becomes stale. Exactly, moreover, overscan and underscan... u are better off subscribing *ahem iptv service. With the STB, you must use the LAN cable from LAN set to the required VLAN setup so it will never face the connection stability issue like WiFI. |

QUOTE(dickybird @ Jan 18 2019, 04:28 PM) https://www.soyacincau.com/2019/01/17/tm-st...g-unifi-tv-stb/ Remember some months ago, they sneakily slips in a clause whereby the price for 100M will raise by RM30 after two months, then only carry out damage control & u-turn, use some white lies to taichi and hypnotize the masses Only a Malaysian public listed company can make this kind of country sized idiotic decisions. Want to e a triple play player but don't want to put their money or hardware where it should be. Then when people want to unbundle they say cannot, because they are triple play player. What a ridiculous unfunny joke. Now, the question is, certain channels that are exclusive to stb, where one is still paying for that, are they now selling the stb instead? since they are no longer supplying it for free? How much are they selling for? Is it rm300? they cant be serious about a huawei brick costing rm300 (look at taobao/alibaba, how much are they selling for the oem version, with the right tools, im confident u can make it a hypptv box) no? Does Astro charge for supplying decoder and satellite dish? don't tell me those equipment are cheaper than huawei brick? u dont say? This post has been edited by imalmighty: Jan 18 2019, 05:24 PM |

QUOTE(coolguy99 @ Jan 23 2019, 08:34 AM) Yes I switched from legacy plan. Just don’t feel like paying so much for internet when there is no notable speed difference True, 72.2Mbps is a figure to be overcome on 2.4GHz band. If u use neither 5GHz nor another AP to harvest the remaining bandwidth, the rest of the bandwidth wasted. This post has been edited by imalmighty: Jan 23 2019, 09:30 AM |

QUOTE(WaCKy-Angel @ Jan 23 2019, 09:11 AM) btw just came to my mind...my place still on copper line but Time can provide Fiber, so why Unifi cant? For high rise, the last mile infra is governed by building management insead of local council, i doubt your building management would allow another fiber network by another ISP on top of Time's. Your building management would ask TM to ride Time's infra instead. Given TM's pride and ego, u think they wud do that?Dont understand what is stopping Unifi to upgrade since Time can do it. I've experienced it myself. |
