Has anyone changed their tyres?

If yes, what brands and models are recommended?

Was thinking of Ecopia 300 but size not available.

Current size (original) 175/65R/14
*
anyone tried continental CC6 ?

For comfort and low noise should be okay but grip suffers and prone to punctures as the tyre is quite soft. .

Since this is a family car, better have more grip and sacrifice comfort
*
Soft and comfort..
That I like..

Grip... This skinny tires are not grippy ler..

Punctures.. I dont like...

4 tires will run me around rm600 +

go for michelin xm2 ba.... pricey a bit but satisfaction guaranteed
*
Oh..
Xm2 has this size??
Have that for the Nissan...
Yes they're nice tires..
Par on grip for dry and wet.
Great NVH values.
But yes, it's pricey..

Thanks for the heads up.

when cc6 worn, then the tyre noise will come back. i read about the review that the thread life of cc6 is not as long lasting compared to its peers. but then, it is a quiet tyre which i think the compound should be softer hence shorter thread life. maybe.
*
I read the design of the tire has micro air pockets in the tire, thus the quietness.
And probably once pass the air pockets, then the sound absorbance is gone..

Hmmmmm..

Just now when I was cruising through traffic jam while having my air conditioning turned off, with just fan running. Then when I turned on the air cond, I noticed there’s very pungent rubbery smells coming out of the air vent, but I thought maybe it’s the smell from the outside so I didn’t take it seriously. But when I parked my car and got down from it I noticed the smell again. Any idea if anything wrong with my car?
*
was ur vent open when u smelled in ur car?
Outside did u try to locate where the smell was coming from?
Notice ur tires have scrape marks on side wall? (if not then, describe rubbery smell)

I have the air recirculation on. I think is coming from the hood because when I come out of my car walk pass the hood of my car I smell the rubbery melting again. Did not check the tire. But my car just passed 1K mark so I doubt it from the tires since it’s still new.
*
Define "rubbery" smell?
Mabbe oil spill on ur engine block burning up?
Have u checked since then?
It's advisable or just take to SC la..

any recommendation on speaker (front and rear) upgrade?
*
The usual suspects like JBL, Pioneer, etc.
But off the beaten track, Boston Acoustics is on par with JBL but not as well known, thus slightly cheaper.
Had a pair for car long time ago.
Eq V shape kind of sound.
Have a pair of floor standing Bostons, comparable to mission acoustics, Acoustic Research,..
All the above comparison is to the sound characteristics..
Clarity,.. Then u need to go to pricier stuff like Focal, etc.

Actually, paying attention to the door panel where the speaker is installed,
(after a year and a half of owning this car.. Lol)
A thought occurred to me..
it would be nice if car manufacturers could design a bass port into the doors..
After all, it's hollow behind the front panel, right?
Anyway, just food for thought..

All these while listening to Depache Mode, Enjoy the silence.

Yes, old song for old man.. Lol
