That one more like currency depreciation than inflation. The only thing to worry is inflation . Who know after 12years roti kosong cost rm500. Haha . Park some money to stable currency to reduce risk maybe? USD, SGD, yen... Uncle should know better than me. |

Have an interesting story to tell. But need infor first to verify.
AA One ASB was converted from FP to VP in 1990(?). True that it was originally "designed" to start as FP with a clause in their trustee/prospectus to change to VP in 1990? Anyone here can confirm that? BB Any one has a copy of the prospectus before 1990? I tried in ASNB, no luck. Thanks. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Nov 5 2018, 07:48 PM) Have an interesting story to tell. But need infor first to verify. "The first PNB fund, Amanah Saham Nasional, was launched as a fixed-price fund in 1981 but it reverted back to market pricing in 1991 as per the trust deed. Thanks. Soon after that, Amanah Saham Bumiputera, a fixed-price fund was launched in 1990 for investors not accustomed to market fluctuations." Source: http://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/cove...y-pnb-conundrum So ASN was actually forced convert into VP by rules set earlier, and then PNB makes ASB instead to continue the FP fund. Is this the interesting story? If this is the case, we can expect the prospectus shall mention the date to convert from FP to VP, not by overnight decision. I called ASNB office today and the lady told me the SC's extension has nothing to do with the FP or VP, just changes in statement reporting. I find that surprising and then asked what about the ASB that was changed from FP to VP. She told me that was stated in the trustee/prospectus to change to VP in 1990. I wanted to verify that in the old prospectus and thus asked here. Don't take what I have said as the golden truth. If later they changed them to VP, I will not be liable. The master prospectus is too long to read. I wanted to scan through by searching for word "fixed" but cannot search that doc (like a scanned doc). Anyone here can help by converting that to normal pdf? Thanks. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Nov 5 2018, 09:29 PM) You hit the nail on the head! Good. So, that's the story, ASN changed to variable price wasn't any problem with the management, economy or fund, but just by rule. And there is no rule stating ASM will change from FP to VP, so nothing we should worry. Of course my interpretation could be wrong.I called ASNB office today and the lady told me the SC's extension has nothing to do with the FP or VP, just changes in statement reporting.
