if withdraw 1k ASM2 but ASM3 still 1k intact, do I still get dividends for ASM2 once it's declared?

yeah it seemed like the whole 1msia are buying. it'll be more and more difficult to buy as time goes because people will be holding on for eternity until they need money and couldn't source it elsewhere. Nonetheless, I'll give this a try (as in, trying to buy more when my FD matures). If too difficult, might just move into EPF. Capital 100% guaranteed, even smaller risk.

Edit : I just called them and they say if suspended, then won't be able to click "Additional Investment" (and for my case, I assume Initial Investment is as good as that). This fund is very old, maybe all the gurus already bought and put them in cold storage, very little floating for sale?

This is the best customer support line I've called. No need to press a dozen numbers before I get to speak to someone. Haha.

I think when it's suspended for dividend payment then you cannot sell to cash out

eh when I opened my account, they say Sara 2 minimum 10k. I didn't bother to check/argue because I am prepared to lose the entire 100 bucks for the account opening, so any funds would do. End up with Imbang 2.

all the not well educated one will just trust what the bank teller says. like the FD, got monthly interest and interest on maturity, if don't ask, they just give the maturity one. Monthly interest can be used to topup for other FD mah, indirectly higher interest.

Large amount still better to use account or cheque loh. This year any cash more than 25k need declaration when you bank in later. As long as you leave behind your money trail la.

No need to stun la. They already publish quarterly result. 5b is for the entire year and the final quarter's loss was 2b. Got 4.5 cents dividend coming. They say expect a good year this year. Monday see how KLSE reacts then can confirm it's good or bad. People don't just look at net profit/loss. They look at the apa nama revenue, potential revenue growth, reason for loss (most are one off) and a few other things.

thanks unker. I always see price go down despite profits (due to lower revenue forecast), or price go up despite a loss (lower than forecasted loss, one-off loss, etc).

And to everyone who's reading, after some research on EPF, any form of contribution will have 70% locked in Account 1. Any form of withdrawal will be from Account 2 until Age 55, unless total is above $1m. To cut the story short, EPF is safer than ASN because it's fully guaranteed by the govt and maybe even higher dividends, but any additional self contribution will also result in 70% of our liquid funds locked in Account 1 until we qualify for withdrawal. So I guess better stay with ASNB IF manage to buy, to balance between safety/dividends and liquidity

true, but small amounts also very fast snapped up. that day when I failed to buy 500 units because forgotten to increase FPX transaction limit, retry no more already. so might even take longer to reach the amount he bought if buy in small amounts.

That day MGM says Johor banks and PNB closed on Sundays. So we're left with a few northern states + terengganu where majority are bumis.

Question : From somewhere I read, ASM1 2 3 have 51% quota for bumiputra during the initial offer. By now, are nonbumi allowed to buy from bumiputra? Or bumiputra can sell to bumiputra only? If bumi to bumi, then I don't think there's much chance on Sunday.

Edit : Just checked that initial investment on MyASNB is $150 for Sara and Imbang 1. Definitely not 10k for Sara as the bank said. But since they accepted 100 bucks for Imbang 2 (assuming all initial investments for VP units are $150), I think that's a discount to MyASNB online. Probably $10 is from years ago when $10 can buy 3-4 decent meals.

Can I also ask why everyone prefers ASNB over EPF? Is it because of the withdrawal constraints (other than those already allowed by EPF like buy house, education, etc) such as 1m+, certain age (age 50 can withdraw from account 2 only)?

I researched, 60k is self contribution. If from salary, can sailang everything after PCB tax [If only you opt to contribute at a rate exceeding the statutory rate, you may submit a notice of election to contribute at a rate exceeding the statutory rate using Form KWSP 17A (AHL)]. When need money only revert back to statutory rate.

one thing to note : ASNB dividend calculated from 1st day of month. EPF from last day of month. So cannot fail to buy ASNB then dump into EPF.
