It's either M20Pro or Mix 3.

All phones will lag after few years if the latest software require more processing power that it can't handle. Even Apple will intentionally slow down the phone to force users to upgrade.

I think newer phones won't lag as much as last time.

Samsung Galaxy S3 = Lagged after 1 year
Xiaomi Mi3 = Still ok today, just battery has issues
Huawei P9 = Still ok today, just GPS issues

I'm quite confident this phone won't be laggy even after 3 years, maybe just a little performance drop.

Waiting for it now, sad that I won't get the Talkband. Can't wait to try out PPSSPP on this beast. I played Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep on my P9, it was really fun but some parts were a bit laggy due to hardware issues. Final Fantasy Dissidia was a disaster on P9, really demanding.

If huawei didn't mess up what it manage they done in mate 9.
I believe mate 20 can go 3 years withour significant performance drop.

My mate 9 still in fast condition even no root no hard reset.

Thats why i give mate 20 a vote compare to note 9

Even if a phone will last 3 years,will you still use it? P9 is only a 2 year old phone and can't handle certain games already. For less demanding user who don't play games it's more viable, those can use 2-3 year old phone if only do social media ad messages.

For me luckily I fall into the less demanding user, mostly social media and messages, the occasional online football management game. Still ok to use previous generation phone when nobody wants to anymore. Will try to keep the urge to change phone for fashion sake. Every 2 years my phone plan finish so I'll choose the latest phone then for almost free.

This was dulu dulu cerita, android nowaday pretty stable. I cannot speak for samsung but huawei

I still using my note4. don't feel any lag. i guess it depend on the user how they use their phone

i am still using mate 8, havent lag yet. all still smooth for my daily use except when typing in whatsapp lag abit if there is big emoji on my screen. so in order to type smoothly i will delete those big emoji like the pumping heart shape.

so i have big confident with huawei.

waiting for mate 20x.

on the lag, i am currently using mate 10, 6mths in snappy and very stable, like new even though i have lots of apps installed/delete/reinstall etc.

European people are smart people.

Most of them regards Huawei is very good brand and buy their flagship phone at expensive price in Europe.

It's not easy to impress European, I m glad to see Asian products are well praised by them.
