i think only ori cable vs after market you would see huge different.. the PD chargers only very minor different...

[attachmentid=10081110]
This chart explain all... 18W is ori apple PD charger.. taken from macrumors
im using baseus PD powerbank... working well with ori cable.. charging speed wise.. more or less the same as ori charger.. one thing nice about this powerbank is PD fast charge in & out...
*
Yeah my understanding the 18W is cap for the X, not sure if XS has even faster charging capability compared to the X or not.

lol, I am upgrading from 6+ flex.gif
*
I upgraded from 6+, experience is totally different biggrin.gif When I upgraded from 5s to 6+, it didn't even felt smoother but rather more laggy haha. But 6+ to XS Max is niiiiiccceeeeee. Once in a while I still use back my 6+ (backup standby number inside now) and it reminded me how smoother XS Max was tongue.gif

No way.
Try to standby ur return postage fee
But can claim in SG

I think if you walk in to confirm they won't layan you and try to push you around. But if you contact Apple directly and get their referral to one of the SC, then our local AASP won't have excuse.

So the PD charging speed differences is due to cable now, I wonder if the brands like Anker would make better/comparable cable compared to Apple's.

So is it limited by the chip in the Apple type C cable or just the cable quality?

QUOTE(chrischiang @ Oct 24 2018, 10:29 AM)
those all come from myself... how bout you do some study 1st before come and challenge?

if i happen to get a type-c power meter, i can measure and share here.. i only got usb power meter as of now...

I'm not sure if you can understand Chinese..
[attachmentid=10082526]
is actually limited by both phone and cable. Apple type-c got a MFI authentication chip, the phone need to read the chip in order to charge with 18W
Yes apple cable sucks big time since long time.. but no choice for now...
*
So there is no MFI certified type C to lightning cable now? If in this case, then only Apple one can full speed.

Checking Anker's website, they don't have type C to Lightning yet. I think probably due to Apple not certifying third party cables as of now.

After markets cable for only McDodo with USB C , I think the rest do not offers yet.

I'm referring to MFI certified third party cables... I doubt McDodo is MFI certified.

I have extra iPad 10W charger. I should be able to use this to charge XS Max, right? Better than the one Apple supplied in the box which is 5W.
*
Faster, but more heat. I use the Apple 10W and 12W as well too, but that's when I'm rushing. If not I just put on the 5W and leave it.

I am doing that with my current 6 Plus. But I'd like my upcoming X Max to last longer (battery life) and so I wonder if I should use 10W or the default 5W?

I also have the MacBook Pro 61W and a Apple USB-C to Lightning cable (company issue)  but I guess I will only use this Fast Charge as a last minute - in case in a rush and need battery !

My intent is to prolong the battery life as long as possible...
*
Use the 5W, it generates less heat = battery can last longer.

Hi guys, plan to buy iPhone xs max, anyone encounter poor reception or network issue at the moment? lower bar compare to previous model?
*
I did speedtest for LTE XS Max versus 8+ both on Digi network. The XS Max was faster about 10% 70 Mbps to 80 Mbps for 3 repetitive. Upload speed similar... 5 mbps je haha.

My 6 plus charged 2 times per day... using Apple, Anker and Aukey chargers with original cable.. after 4 years it is 87%.

Another antenna gate? sad.gif  First batch always have problems.
*
Network reset would fix most of this issue, though might be some network profile topics here. But if still having bad performance then better RMA it. I compared mine versus brother's 8+ on Digi network, the XS Max is faster on LTE. Wi-Fi more or less similar.

why would network reset fix an antenna design issue...
hmm.gif

Doesn't solve antenna design issue, but most people having this "bad reception" so far is due to this network profile. This has been discussed few weeks back already among the owners who get AP sets. I didn't encounter bad LTE/WiFi signal since I set up my XS Max as iPhone instead of transferring data.
